It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the people accused a man regarding a woman of the household of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) (i.e., the umm walad slave-girl of the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him). He (peace be upon him) said to Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him): Go and strike off this man's neck (perhaps he was a hypocrite, or was liable to be killed for some other reason). Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) went to him and found him bathing to cool himself in a well. Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said to him: Come out. He put his hand in Sayyiduna Ali's (may Allah be pleased with him) hand. He brought him out and saw that his male organ was cut off — he had no organ at all. So Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) did not kill him and came to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! He is a eunuch (i.e., his organ is cut off); he has no organ at all. (So Sayyiduna Ali, may Allah be pleased with him, understood that he, peace be upon him, had ordered the killing on suspicion of adultery, and for this reason he did not kill him; and perhaps he, peace be upon him, had come to know through revelation that the man would not be killed. But he, peace be upon him, gave the order to kill so that the man's condition would become clear, that people might regret their accusation, and that their falsehood be exposed.)
الترجمة الأردية
سیدنا انس رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہلوگ ایک آدمی پر آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکی حرم سے (یعنی رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکی ام ولد لونڈی) کو تہمت لگاتے تھے۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے سیدنا علی رضی اللہ عنہ سے فرمایا کہ جا اور اس شخص کی گردن مار (شاید وہ منافق ہو گا یا کسی اور وجہ سے قتل کے لائق ہو گا)۔ سیدنا علی رضی اللہ عنہ اس کے پاس گئے، دیکھا تو وہ ٹھنڈک کے لئے ایک کنوئیں میں غسل کر رہا ہے۔ سیدنا علی رضی اللہ عنہ نے اس سے کہا کہ نکل۔ اس نے اپنا ہاتھ سیدنا علی رضی اللہ عنہ کے ہاتھ میں دیا۔ انہوں نے اس کو باہر نکالا تو دیکھا کہ اس کا عضو تناسل کٹا ہوا ہے۔ سیدنا علی رضی اللہ عنہ نے اس کو قتل نہ کیا اور رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پاس آ کر عرض کیا کہ یا رسول اللہ! وہ تو مجبوب ہے (یعنی ذکر کٹا ہوا)۔ اس کا ذکر ہی نہیں۔ (تو سیدنا علی رضی اللہ عنہ یہی سمجھے کہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے زنا کے خیال سے اس کے قتل کا حکم دیا ہے، اس واسطے انہوں نے قتل نہ کیا اور شاید آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکو وحی سے معلوم ہو گیا ہو گا کہ وہ قتل نہ کیا جائے گا۔ لیکن آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے قتل کا حکم دیا تاکہ اس کا حال ظاہر ہو جائے اور لوگ اپنی تہمت پر نادم ہوں اور ان کا جھوٹ کھل جائے)۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 2154]
