الترجمة الإنجليزية
Sayyiduna Khabbab (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I had a debt owed by al-As ibn Wail. I went to collect it from him, and he said: I will never pay it until you disbelieve in Muhammad (peace be upon him) (and his religion). I said: I will not disbelieve in Muhammad (peace be upon him) even if you die and are brought back to life. He said: I will be raised again after death, and then I will pay your debt. Then this verse was revealed: "Have you seen the one who disbelieved in Our verses and said: I will surely be given wealth and children? Has he looked into the unseen, or has he taken a covenant with Allah?..." to the end.
الترجمة الأردية
سیدنا خباب رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہعاص بن وائل پر میرا قرض تھا، میں اس سے لینے کو گیا تو وہ بولا کہ میں کبھی نہ دوں گا جب تک تو محمدصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم(کے دین) سے پھر نہ جائے گا۔ میں نے کہا کہ میں تو محمد (صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم) سے اس وقت بھی نہ پھروں گا کہ تو مر کر جی اٹھے۔ وہ بولا کہ میں مرنے کے بعد پھر اٹھوں گا تو تیرا قرض ادا کروں گا۔ تب یہ آیت اتری”تو نے اس شخص کو دیکھا جس نے ہماری آیتوں کا انکار کیا اور کہنے لگا کہ مجھے مال اور اولاد ملے گی۔ کیا وہ غیب کی بات کو جانتا ہے یا اس نے اللہ تعالیٰ سے کوئی اقرار کیا ہے؟ ........“آخر تک۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 2150]
