Sayyiduna Uqba ibn Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) came out while we were in the Suffa. He (peace be upon him) said: "Which of you would like to go each morning to Buthan or al-Aqiq (these were two markets of Medina) and bring back from there two large-humped she-camels, without any sin and without violating the rights of any relative?" We said: O Messenger of Allah, we would all like that. He (peace be upon him) said: "Then why does not each of you go to the mosque and learn or recite two verses of the Book of Allah, which are better for him than two she-camels, and three are better than three she-camels, and four are better than four she-camels, and likewise however many verses there are, they are better than that many she-camels?"
الترجمة الأردية
سیدنا عقبہ بن عامر رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنکلے اور ہم لوگ صفہ میں تھے۔ پس آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ تم میں سے کون چاہتا ہے کہ روز صبح کو بطحان یا عقیق کو جائے (یہ دونوں مدینہ کے بازار تھے) اور وہاں سے بڑے بڑے کوہان کی دو اونٹنیاں بغیر کسی گناہ کی اور بغیر اس کے کہ کسی رشتہ دار کی حق تلفی کرے، لائے تو ہم نے عرض کیا کہ یا رسول اللہ! ہم سب اس کو چاہتے ہیں۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ پھر تم میں سے ہر ایک مسجد کو کیوں نہیں جاتا اور کیوں نہیں سیکھتا یا پڑھتا اللہ کی کتاب کی دو آیتیں، جو اس کے لئے دو اونٹنیوں سے بہتر ہیں اور تین بہتر ہیں تین اونٹنیوں سے اور چار بہتر ہیں چار اونٹنیوں سے اور اسی طرح جتنی آیتیں ہوں، اتنی اونٹنیوں سے بہتر ہیں۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 2103]
