Sayyiduna Abu ad-Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Prophet (peace be upon him) that he (peace be upon him) said: "Is any one of you incapable of reading a third of the Qur'an every night?" The Companions asked: How can anyone read a third of the Qur'an? He (peace be upon him) said: "'Say: He is Allah, the One' is equal to a third of the Qur'an."
الترجمة الأردية
سیدنا ابوالدرداء رضی اللہ عنہ نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے روایت کرتے ہیں کہآپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا: کیا تم میں سے کوئی اس بات سے عاجز ہے کہ ہر رات ایک تہائی قرآن پڑھ لے؟ صحابہ نے عرض کیا کہ کوئی تہائی قرآن کیسے پڑھ سکتا ہے؟ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ ((قل ھو اﷲ احد)) تہائی قرآن کے برابر ہے۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 2099]
