Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "When Persia and Rome are conquered, what will you be like?" Sayyiduna Abd ar-Rahman ibn Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) said: We will say what Allah has commanded us (i.e., we will give thanks to Him). The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Or something else? You will compete, then you will envy, then you will fall out with one another, then you will hate one another," or something like that. "Then you will go to the poor Emigrants and set some of them as rulers over others."
الترجمة الأردية
سیدنا عبداللہ بن عمرو بن عاص رضی اللہ عنہ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے روایت کرتے ہیں کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا: جب فارس اور روم فتح ہو جائیں گے تو تم کیا کہو گے؟ سیدنا عبدالرحمن بن عوف رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا کہ ہم وہی کہیں گے جو اللہ نے ہمیں حکم کیا (یعنی اس کا شکر ادا کریں گے)۔ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ اور کچھ نہیں کہتے، رشک کرو گے، پھر حسد کرو گے، پھر دوستوں سے بگاڑو گے، پھر دشمنی کرو گے یا ایسا ہی کچھ فرمایا۔ پھر مسکین مہاجرین کے پاس جاؤ گے اور ایک کو دوسروں کا حاکم بناؤ گے۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 2081]
