It is narrated from Yusayr ibn Jabir that once a red windstorm came upon Kufa, and a man came whose habitual phrase was, "O 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud! The Hour has come!" Hearing this, 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with them both) sat up -- for he had been reclining -- and said: The Hour will not be established until the inheritance is not divided and there is no joy over spoils of war (for when no heir remains, who will divide the inheritance, and when no one survives the battle, what joy will there be over spoils?). Then he pointed with his hand toward the land of Syria and said: The enemy (the Christians) will gather to fight the Muslims, and the Muslims too will gather to fight them. I said, "By the enemy do you mean the Christians?" He said, "Yes. And at that time a severe battle will begin. The Muslims will send forward a detachment that will advance to die and will not return except victorious. So they will go with the intent that either they will fight and die, or they will conquer and come back. Then the two parties will fight until night intervenes. So the armies of both sides will return, and neither will have prevailed, and the advancing detachment will be utterly wiped out (that is, all its men will be killed). The next day the Muslims will again send forward a detachment to die or to prevail, and the battle will continue until night intervenes. Then the armies of both sides will return, and neither will have prevailed, and the advancing detachment will be utterly wiped out. Then on the third day the Muslims will send forward a detachment with the intent to die or to prevail, and the battle will continue until evening; then the armies of both sides will return, neither having prevailed, and that detachment will be wiped out. When it is the fourth day, all the remaining Muslims will advance, and on that day Allah the Exalted will defeat the disbelievers. And there will be such a battle as no one will see, or the like of which no one has seen, so that a bird will fly over them or over their bodies, then it will not pass beyond but will fall down dead. Of a clan numbering a hundred, one man will survive (that is, ninety-nine percent of the men will be killed and one will remain). In such a state what joy of spoils will be gained, and what inheritance will be divided? Then, while the Muslims are in this state, they will hear news of yet another great disaster. A cry will come to them that the (one-eyed) Dajjal has come after them, among their families. Hearing this, they will leave whatever is in their hands and set out, and will send ten horsemen as scouts (to bring news of the Dajjal). The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'I know the names of those horsemen and their fathers, and I know the colors of their horses. الترجمة الأردية

سیدنا یسیر بن جابر سے روایت ہے کہایک بار کوفہ میں سرخ آندھی آئی تو ایک شخص آیا جس کا تکیہ کلام ہی یہ تھا کہ اے عبداللہ بن مسعود! قیامت آئی۔ یہ سن کر سیدنا عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہما بیٹھ گئے اور پہلے وہ تکیہ لگائے ہوئے تھے اور کہا کہ قیامت قائم نہ ہو گی، یہاں تک کہ ترکہ نہ بٹے گا اور مال غنیمت سے خوشی نہ ہو گی (کیونکہ جب کوئی وارث ہی نہ رہے گا تو ترکہ کون بانٹے گا اور جب کوئی لڑائی سے زندہ نہ بچے گا تو مال غنیمت کی کیا خوشی ہو گی)۔ پھر اپنے ہاتھ سے شام کے ملک کی طرف اشارہ کیا اور کہا کہ دشمن (نصاریٰ) مسلمانوں سے لڑنے کے لئے جمع ہوں گے اور مسلمان بھی ان سے لڑنے کے لئے جمع ہوں گے۔ میں نے کہا کہ دشمن سے تمہاری مراد نصاریٰ ہیں؟ انہوں نے کہا کہ ہاں۔ اور اس وقت سخت لڑائی شروع ہو گی۔ مسلمان ایک لشکر کو آگے بھیجیں گے جو مرنے کے لئے آگے بڑھے گا اور بغیر غلبہ کے نہ لوٹے گا (یعنی اس قصد سے جائے گا کہ یا لڑ کر مر جائیں گے یا فتح کر کے آئیں گے) پھر دونوں فرقے لڑیں گے، یہاں تک کہ (لڑائی میں) رات حائل ہو جائے گی۔ پس دونوں طرف کی فوجیں لوٹ جائیں گی اور کسی کو غلبہ نہ ہو گا۔ اور لڑائی کے لئے بڑھنے والا لشکر بالکل فنا ہو جائے گا (یعنی اس کے سب لوگ قتل ہو جائیں گے) دوسرے دن پھر مسلمان ایک لشکر آگے بڑھائیں گے جو مرنے کے لئے یا غالب ہونے کے لئے جائے گا اور لڑائی رہے گی، یہاں تک کہ رات حائل ہو جائے گی۔ پھر دونوں طرف کی فوجیں لوٹ جائیں گی اور کسی کو غلبہ نہ ہو گا اور آگے بڑھنے والا لشکر بالکل فنا ہو جائے گا۔ پھر تیسرے دن مسلمان ایک لشکر مرنے یا غالب ہونے کی نیت سے آگے بڑھائیں گے اور شام تک لڑائی رہے گی، پھر دونوں طرف کی فوجیں لوٹ جائیں گی کسی کو غلبہ نہ ہو گا اور وہ لشکر فنا ہو جائے گا۔ جب چوتھا دن ہو گا تو جتنے مسلمان باقی رہ گئے ہوں گے، وہ سب آگے بڑھیں گے اور اس دن اللہ تعالیٰ کافروں کو شکست دے گا اور ایسی لڑائی ہو گی کہ ویسی کوئی نہ دیکھے گا یا ویسی لڑائی کسی نے نہیں دیکھی ہو گی، یہاں تک کہ پرندہ ان کے اوپر یا ان کے بدن پر اڑے گا، پھر آگے نہیں بڑھے گا کہ وہ مردہ ہو کر گر جائیں گا۔ ایک جدی لوگ جو گنتی میں سو ہوں گے ان میں سے ایک شخص بچے گا (یعنی ننانوے فیصد آدمی مارے جائیں گے اور ایک باقی رہ جائے گا) ایسی حالت میں مال غنیمت کی کون سی خوشی حاصل ہو گی اور کون سا ترکہ بانٹا جائے گا؟ پھر مسلمان اسی حالت میں ہوں گے کہ ایک اور بڑی آفت کی خبر سنیں گے۔ ایک پکار ان کو آئے گی کہ ان کے پیچھے ان کے بال بچوں میں (کانا) دجال آ چکا ہے۔ یہ سنتے ہی جو کچھ ان کے ہاتھوں میں ہو گا اس کو چھوڑ کر روانہ ہوں گے اور دس سواروں کو جاسوسی کے طور پر روانہ کریں گے (دجال کی خبر لانے کے لئے)۔ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ میں ان سواروں اور ان کے باپوں کے نام تک جانتا ہوں اور ان کے گھوڑوں کے رنگ بھی جانتا ہوں اور وہ اس دن ساری زمین کے بہتر سوار ہوں گے یا اس دن بہتر سواروں میں سے ہوں گے۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 2027]سیدنا یسیر بن جابر سے روایت ہے کہایک بار کوفہ میں سرخ آندھی آئی تو ایک شخص آیا جس کا تکیہ کلام ہی یہ تھا کہ اے عبداللہ بن مسعود!
