Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: We were sitting with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) when the sound of something falling came. He (peace be upon him) said, "Do you know what that is?" We said, "Allah and His Messenger (peace be upon him) know best." He (peace be upon him) said, "That is a stone which was cast into Hell seventy years ago. It has been falling all this while, and now it has reached its bottom." (Refuge is sought with Allah! Hell is so deep that from its top to its bottom is a journey of seventy years, and that too at the swift motion with which a stone falls from above downward.)
الترجمة الأردية
سیدنا ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہہم رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پاس بیٹھے تھے ایک دھماکے کی آواز آئی۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ تم جانتے ہو کہ یہ کیا ہے؟ ہم نے عرض کیا کہ اللہ اور اس کا رسولصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمخوب جانتے ہیں۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ یہ ایک پتھر ہے، جو جہنم میں ستر برس پہلے پھینکا گیا تھا۔ وہ جا رہا تھا، اب اس کی تہہ میں پہنچا ہے (معاذاللہ جہنم اتنی گہری ہے کہ اس کی چوٹی سے تہہ تک ستر برس کی راہ ہے اور وہ بھی اس تیز حرکت سے جیسے پتھر اوپر سے نیچے کو گرتا ہے)۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1977]
