Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) was in the mosque, and we were also sitting with him, when a man came and said, "O Messenger of Allah! I have committed an act deserving a legal penalty; apply the penalty to me." The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) fell silent upon hearing this. The man said again, "O Messenger of Allah! I have committed an act deserving a legal penalty; apply the penalty to me." He (peace be upon him) remained silent. Meanwhile the prayer was established. When the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) had finished the prayer and set off, the man also followed behind the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), and I too followed behind him (peace be upon him) to see what answer he would give the man. Then the man met the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and said, "O Messenger of Allah! I have committed an act deserving a legal penalty; apply the penalty to me." Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, "When you left your home, did you not perform ablution well?" He said, "Yes, O Messenger of Allah!" He (peace be upon him) said, "Then did you pray with us?" He said, "Yes, O Messenger of Allah!" He (peace be upon him) said, "Allah has forgiven your penalty"—or "your sin."
الترجمة الأردية
سیدنا ابوامامہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلممسجد میں تھے اور ہم لوگ بھی آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے ساتھ بیٹھے تھے، اتنے میں ایک شخص آیا اور کہنے لگا کہ یا رسول اللہ! میں حد کے کام کو پہنچا ہوں، مجھے حد لگائیے۔ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمیہ سن کر چپ ہو رہے۔ اس نے پھر کہا کہ یا رسول اللہ! میں نے حد کا کام کیا ہے، مجھے حد لگائیے۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمچپ ہو رہے۔ اتنے میں نماز کھڑی ہوئی۔ جب آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنماز سے فارغ ہو کر چلے تو وہ شخص بھی رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پیچھے چلا اور میں بھی آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پیچھے یہ دیکھنے کو چلا کہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلماس شخص کو کیا جواب دیتے ہیں۔ پھر وہ شخص رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے ملا اور عرض کیا کہ یا رسول اللہ! میں نے حد کا کام کیا ہے، مجھے حد لگائیے۔ سیدنا ابوامامہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا کہ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ جس وقت تو اپنے گھر سے نکلا تھا، تو نے اچھی طرح سے وضو نہیں کیا؟ وہ بولا کہ کیوں نہیں یا رسول اللہ! آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ پھر تو نے ہمارے ساتھ نماز پڑھی؟ وہ بولا ہاں یا رسول اللہ!۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ اللہ نے تیری حد کو یا تیرے گناہ کو بخش دیا۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1936]
