Narrated Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both): When the Muslims came to Medina, they used to estimate the time and gather to pray, and no one would call out (an announcement). One day the Muslims consulted about ringing a bell like the Christians, or blowing a horn like the Jews, to announce the prayer. Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) suggested that a man be appointed to inform the people of the prayer. At that, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "O Bilal! Get up and make the announcement for the prayer."
الترجمة الأردية
سیدنا عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے روایت ہے کہمسلمان جب مدینہ میں آئے تو وقت کا اندازہ کر کے جمع ہو کر نماز پڑھ لیا کرتے تھے اور کوئی شخص ندا وغیرہ نہیں کرتا۔ ایک دن مسلمانوں نے مشورہ کیا کہ اطلاع نماز کے لئے عیسائیوں کی طرح ناقوس بجا لیا کریں یا یہودیوں کی طرح نرسنگا بجا لیا کریں تو سیدنا عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے مشورہ دیا کہ ایک آدمی کو مقرر کر دیا جائے جو لوگوں کو نماز کے لئے مطلع کر دیا کرے اس پر رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ اے بلال! اٹھو اور نماز کے لئے اعلان کر دو۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 190]
