Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "None of you should wish for death because of a calamity or affliction that has befallen him. But if he must wish for it, then let him say: 'O Allah! Keep me alive as long as living is better for me, and cause me to die when death is better for me.'"
الترجمة الأردية
سیدنا انس رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا: تم میں سے کوئی بھی شخص کسی نازل ہونے والی مصیبت یا آفت کی وجہ سے موت کی آرزو نہ کرے۔ اگر ایسی ہی خواہش ہو تو یوں کہے کہ اے اللہ!! مجھے اس وقت تک زندہ رکھ جب تک جینا میرے لئے بہتر ہو اور اس وقت موت دے دینا جب مرنا میرے لئے بہتر ہو۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1884]
