Narrated Jarir ibn Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him): Some Bedouin people came to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) wearing woolen garments. When he (peace be upon him) saw their wretched state, he urged the people to give charity. The people were slow to give charity, until distress at this became apparent on his (peace be upon him) face. Then a man of the Helpers came with a purse of coins, then another came, until (the flow of charity and alms) became a continuous stream, and joy became apparent on his (peace be upon him) face. Then he (peace be upon him) said, "Whoever establishes a good practice in Islam (that is, initiates an excellent deed that is rewarded according to the Shari'ah and whose example is present in the Qur'an and Sunnah), and people act upon it after him, he will have a reward equal to that of all who act upon it, without the reward of those who act upon it being diminished in the least. And whoever establishes an evil practice in Islam (for example, an innovation or a sinful deed), and people act upon it after him, upon him will be written a sin equal to that of all who act upon it, without the sin of those who act upon it being diminished in the least."
الترجمة الأردية
سیدنا جریر بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہکچھ اعرابی لوگ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پاس آئے وہ کمبل پہنے ہوئے تھے۔ پس آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے ان کا برا حال دیکھا تو لوگوں کو صدقہ دینے کی رغبت دلائی۔ لوگوں نے صدقہ دینے میں دیر کی، یہاں تک کہ اس بات کا رنج آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے چہرے پر معلوم ہوا۔ پھر ایک انصاری شخص روپوں کی ایک تھیلی لے کر آیا، پھر دوسرا آیا، یہاں تک کہ (صدقہ اور خیرات کا) تار بندھ گیا اور آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے چہرے پر خوشی معلوم ہونے لگی۔ پھر آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ جو شخص اسلام میں اچھا طریقہ جاری کرے (یعنی عمدہ کام کو جاری کرے جو شریعت کی رو سے ثواب ہو اور اس کا نمونہ قرآن و سنت میں موجود ہو) پھر لوگ اس کے بعد اس کام پر عمل کریں تو اس کو اتنا ثواب ہو گا جتنا سب عمل کرنے والوں کو ہو گا اور عمل کرنے والوں کے ثواب میں کچھ کمی نہ ہو گی اور جو اسلام میں برا طریقہ جاری کرے (مثلاً بدعت یا گناہ کا کام) اور لوگ اس کے بعد اس پر عمل کریں تو تمام عمل کرنے والوں کے برابر گناہ اس پر لکھا جائے گا اور عمل کرنے والوں کا گناہ کچھ کم نہ ہو گا۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1859]
