Narrated Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), who used to say: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, "Every child is born upon the fitrah (Islam) (that is, born with a natural disposition toward Islam. If his parents are upon Islam, he remains upon Islam; otherwise they turn him toward their own religion, though the disposition toward Islam still remains within him, and it is for this reason that some of them later accept Islam), then his parents make him a Jew, a Christian, or a Magian, just as an animal with four legs always gives birth to a sound animal — do you perceive among them any with a cut ear?" Then Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "If you wish, recite this verse: 'The nature (fitrah) of Allah upon which He created mankind; there is no changing the creation of Allah....' the whole verse (al-Rum: 30)."
الترجمة الأردية
سیدنا ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ وہ کہا کرتے تھے کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا: ہر بچہ فطرت (اسلام) پر پیدا ہوتا ہے، (اسلام کی استعداد پر پیدا ہوتا ہے۔ اگر اس کے والدین اسلام پر ہوں تو وہ اسلام پر قائم رہتا ہے ورنہ وہ اسے اپنے دین پر کر لیتے ہیں لیکن اسلام کی استعداد اس میں پھر بھی قائم رہتی ہے اور اسی لئے ان میں سے کچھ بعد میں اسلام قبول کر لیتے ہیں) پھر اس کے ماں باپ اس کو یہودی یا نصرانی یا مجوسی بنا لیتے ہیں، جیسے جانور چار پاؤں والا ہمیشہ سالم جانور جنتا ہے، کیا تمہیں ان میں کوئی کان کٹا ہوا جانور محسوس ہوتا ہے؟ پھر سیدنا ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ تمہارا جی چاہے تو اس آیت کو پڑھو کہ”اللہ کی پیدائش جس پر لوگوں کو بنایا اللہ کی پیدائش نہیں بدلتی ........“پوری آیت (الروم: 30)۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1852]
