Narrated Abdullah bin al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with him): A man of the Ansar disputed with al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with him) (who was the paternal cousin of the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him) before the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) concerning a stream at the edge of al-Harrah (al-Harrah is land with black stones) with which they watered the date-palms. The Ansari said, "Let the water flow." Al-Zubayr refused. At last they brought their dispute before the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), and he said to al-Zubayr, "O Zubayr, water (your trees), then let the water flow to your neighbor." Hearing this, the Ansari became angry and said, "O Messenger of Allah, is it because al-Zubayr is the son of your paternal aunt? (that is, for this reason you favored him)." Hearing this, the color of the blessed face of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) changed, and he said, "O Zubayr, water your trees, then hold back the water until it rises to the walls." Al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "By Allah, I believe this verse was revealed concerning this matter: 'By your Lord, they will not believe until they make you the judge in their disputes; then whatever you decide, they feel no resentment about it and submit fully.'" الترجمة الأردية
سیدنا عبداللہ بن زبیر رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہانصار کے ایک آدمی نے سیدنا زبیر رضی اللہ عنہ (جو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پھوپھی زاد بھائی تھے) سے رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پاس (مقام) حرہ کے موہرے میں جھگڑا کیا (حرہ کہتے ہیں کالے پتھر والی زمین کو) جس سے کھجور کے درختوں کو پانی دیتے تھے۔ انصاری نے کہا کہ پانی کو چھوڑ دے کہ بہتا رہے۔ سیدنا زبیر نے انکار کیا۔ آخر سب نے رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے سامنے جھگڑا کیا تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے سیدنا زبیر سے فرمایا کہ اے زبیر! تو (اپنے درختوں کو) پانی پلا لے پھر پانی کو اپنے ہمسائے کی طرف چھوڑ دے۔ یہ سن کر انصاری غصہ ہوا اور کہنے لگا کہ یا رسول اللہ! زبیر آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پھوپھی کے بیٹے تھے (اس وجہ سے آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے ان کی رعایت کی)۔ یہ سن کر آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے چہرے مبارک کا رنگ بدل گیا اور آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ اے زبیر! اپنے درختوں کو پانی پلا پھر پانی کو روک لے، یہاں تک کہ وہ منڈیروں تک چڑھ جائے۔ سیدنا زبیر رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا کہ اللہ کی قسم میں سمجھتا ہوں کہ یہ آیت اسی بارے میں اتری کہ”اللہ کی قسم وہ مومن نہ ہوں گے جب تک تجھ کو اپنے جھگڑوں میں حاکم نہ بنائیں گے پھر جو تو فیصلہ کر دے اس سے رنج نہ کریں اور مان لیں“((پوری آیت فلاور بک لا یومنون حتیٰ یحکموک۔۔۔))۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1597]
