Narrated Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) was the most generous of people in giving wealth, and his generosity was greatest of all in the month of Ramadan. Jibril (peace be upon him) would meet him every year in Ramadan until the end of the month, and he would recite the Quran to him. When Jibril (peace be upon him) met him, at that time he was more generous in giving wealth than the blowing wind. (It is thus known that one should be more generous in the blessed month and blessed time.) [Mukhtasar Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 1585]

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسب لوگوں سے زیادہ مال دینے میں سخی تھے اور سب وقتوں سے زیادہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکی سخاوت رمضان کے مہینے میں ہوتی تھی۔ اور سیدنا جبرائیل علیہ السلام ہر سال رمضان میں آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے ملتے تو آخر مہینہ تک۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمانہیں قرآن سناتے جب جبرائیل علیہ السلام آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے ملتے اس وقت آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلممال کے دینے میں چلتی ہوا سے بھی زیادہ تیزی سے سخاوت کرتے تھے۔ (معلوم ہوا کہ مبارک مہینہ اور مبارک وقت میں زیادہ سخاوت کرنا چاہئے)۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1585]
