Narrated Umm al-Mu'minin Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her): I placed water for the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) for the bath of major ritual impurity (janabah). He first washed both his hands two or three times, then put his hand into the vessel and poured water over his private part and washed it with his left hand, then rubbed his left hand hard on the ground and washed it. Then he performed ablution as he did for prayer, then poured three handfuls of water over his head, then washed his whole body, then moved away from that spot and washed his feet. Then I brought a towel (cloth) for him to wipe his body, but he did not take it.
الترجمة الأردية
ام المؤمنین میمونہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں،میں نے رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے لئے غسل جنابت کے واسطے پانی رکھا۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے پہلے دو بار یا تین بار دونوں ہاتھ دھوئے، پھر ہاتھ برتن میں ڈالا اور شرمگاہ پر پانی ڈال کر بائیں ہاتھ سے دھویا، پھر بائیں ہاتھ کو زمین پر زور سے رگڑ کر دھویا پھر وضو کیا جیسے نماز کے لئے کرتے تھے، پھر اپنے سر پر تین چلو بھر کر ڈالے، پھر سارے بدن کو دھویا، پھر اس جگہ سے ہٹ کر اور پاؤں دھوئے۔ پھر میں بدن پوچھنے کو رو مال (تولیہ) لے کر آئی تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے نہ لیا۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 155]
