The Mother of the Believers, A'ishah the Truthful (may Allah be pleased with her), says: When the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) was given a choice (by Allah the Exalted) between two matters, he (peace be upon him) chose the easier, provided it was not a sin. And if it was a sin, he (peace be upon him) was the furthest of all from it. And he (peace be upon him) never took revenge for his own self, except that if anyone did contrary to the command of Allah, he would punish him.
الترجمة الأردية
ام المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہجب رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکو (اللہ تعالیٰ کی طرف سے) دو کاموں کا اختیار دیا گیا، تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے آسان کو اختیار کیا، بشرطیکہ وہ گناہ نہ ہو۔ اور جو گناہ ہوتا تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسب سے بڑھ کر اس سے دور رہتے۔ اور کبھی آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے اپنی ذات کے لئے کسی سے بدلہ نہیں لیا، البتہ اگر کوئی اللہ کے حکم کے برخلاف کرتا تو اس کو سزا دیتے۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1546]
