Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "The most merciful of my Ummah toward my Ummah is Abu Bakr. The most steadfast in the religion of Allah is Umar. The most genuinely modest is Uthman. The best judge is Ali. The most knowledgeable of the lawful and unlawful is Mu'adh ibn Jabal. The most knowledgeable of the laws of inheritance is Zayd ibn Thabit. The best reciter is Ubayy ibn Ka'b. And every nation has a trustworthy custodian, and the trustworthy custodian of this Ummah is Abu Ubaydah ibn al-Jarrah."
الترجمة الأردية
سیدنا جابر بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمام سائب (یا ام مسیب) رضی اللہ عنہا کے پاس گئے، تو فرمایا کہ اے ام سائب (یا ام مسیب)! تو لرز رہی ہے تجھے کیا ہوا؟ وہ بولیں کہ بخار ہے، اللہ تعالیٰ اس کو برکت نہ دے۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ بخار کو برا مت کہہ، کیونکہ وہ آدمیوں کے گناہوں کو ایسے دور کر دیتا ہے جیسے بھٹی لوہے کے میل کو دور کر دیتی ہے۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1469]
