Narrated Salamah bin al-Akwa (may Allah be pleased with him): We were with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) in the Battle of Hawazin (the Battle of Hunayn) (which occurred in the eighth year of the Hijrah). We were eating breakfast with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) when a man came riding a red camel. He made the camel kneel, took a strap from its back, and tethered it. Then he came and began to eat food with the people and to look about (he was a spy of the disbelievers). And we in those days were weak, and some were on foot (having no mounts). Meanwhile, suddenly he came running to his camel, untied its strap, made it sit, then mounted it and made it stand, and the camel carried him off in flight (now he was going to inform the disbelievers). A man pursued him on a dun-colored she-camel. Salamah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I ran on foot until I was near the she-camel's rump (which was pursuing that spy), then I advanced further until I came near the camel's rump, then advanced further until I seized the camel's noserein and made it kneel. As soon as the camel put its knee to the ground, I drew my sword and struck a blow upon the man's head and felled him. Then, dragging the camel along with the (spy's) belongings and weapons, I brought it. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) was with the people who had come forward (waiting for me); he met me and asked, "Who killed this man?" The people said, "The son of al-Akwa." So he (peace be upon him) said: "All his belongings are for the son of al-Akwa." [Mukhtasar Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 1144]

سیدنا سلمہ بن اکوع رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہہم غزوہ ہوازن (غزوہ حنین) میں رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے ساتھ تھے (جو آٹھ ہجری میں ہوا)۔ ہم رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے ساتھ صبح کا ناشتہ کر رہے تھے کہ اتنے میں ایک شخص سرخ اونٹ پر سوار آیا۔ اونٹ کو بٹھا کر اس کی کمر پر سے ایک تسمہ نکالا اور اس سے باندھ دیا۔ پھر آ کر لوگوں کے ساتھ کھانا کھانے اور ادھر ادھر دیکھنے لگا (وہ کافروں کا جاسوس تھا)۔ اور ہم لوگ ان دنوں ناتواں تھے اور بعض پیدل بھی تھے (جن کے پاس سواری نہ تھی) اتنے میں یکایک دوڑتا ہوا اپنے اونٹ کے پاس آیا اور اس کا تسمہ کھول کر اس کو بیٹھ کر اور پھر اس پر بیٹھ کر کھڑا کیا، تو اونٹ اس کو لے کر بھاگا (اب کافروں کو خبر دینے کے لئے چلا)۔ ایک شخص نے خاکی رنگ کی اونٹنی پر اس کا پیچھا کیا۔ سیدنا سلمہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا کہ میں پیدل دوڑتا چلا گیا پہلے میں اونٹنی کی سرین کے پاس تھا (جو کہ اس جاسوس کے تعاقب میں جا رہی تھی) پھر میں اور آگے بڑھا یہاں تک کہ اونٹ کے سرین کے پاس آ گیا پھر اور آ گے بڑھا، یہاں تک کہ اونٹ کی نکیل پکڑ کر اس کو بٹھا دیا۔ جونہی اونٹ نے اپنا گھٹنا زمین پر ٹیکا، میں نے تلوار سونتی اور اس مرد کے سر پر ایک وار کر کے اس کو گرا دیا۔ پھر میں اونٹ کو کھینچتا ہوا، اس (جاسوس) کے سامان اور ہتھیار سمیت لے آیا۔ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلملوگوں کے ساتھ تھے جو آگے تشریف لائے تھے (میرے انتظار میں) مجھ سے ملے اور پوچھا کہ اس مرد کو کس نے مارا؟ لوگوں نے کہا کہ اکوع کے بیٹے نے، تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ اس کا سب سامان اکوع کے بیٹے کا ہے۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1144]
