Narrated Anas (may Allah be pleased with him): (His mother) Umm Sulaym (may Allah be pleased with her) took a dagger on the day of Hunayn and kept it with her. When Abu Talhah (may Allah be pleased with him) saw it, he said to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), "This is Umm Sulaym, and she has a dagger." He (peace be upon him) asked (Umm Sulaym), "What is this dagger?" Umm Sulaym (may Allah be pleased with her) said, "O Messenger of Allah! If any polytheist comes near me, I will rip open his belly with this dagger." Hearing this, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) laughed. Then Umm Sulaym (may Allah be pleased with her) said, "O Messenger of Allah! Kill the freed ones (the people of Makkah) besides us; they were defeated by you (peace be upon him) (and thus became Muslims, but did not become Muslims at heart)." So he (peace be upon him) said: "O Umm Sulaym! Allah the Exalted has sufficed (against the evil of the disbelievers) in the best of ways (now there is no need for you to carry a dagger)." الترجمة الأردية
سیدنا انس رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ(ان کی والدہ) ام سلیم رضی اللہ عنہا نے حنین کے دن ایک خنجر لیا، وہ ان کے پاس تھا کہ سیدنا ابوطلحہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے دیکھا تو رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم! سے عرض کیا کہ یہ ام سلیم ہے اور ان کے پاس ایک خنجر ہے۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے (ام سلیم سے) پوچھا کہ یہ خنجر کیسا ہے؟ ام سلیم رضی اللہ عنہا نے کہا کہ یا رسول اللہ! اگر کوئی مشرک میرے قریب آیا تو میں اس خنجر سے اس کا پیٹ پھاڑ ڈالوں گی۔ یہ سن کر رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمہنسے۔ پھر ام سلیم رضی اللہ عنہا نے کہا کہ یا رسول اللہ! ہمارے سوا طلقاء (یعنی اہل مکہ) کو مار ڈالئے، انہوں نے آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے شکست پائی (اس وجہ سے مسلمان ہو گئے اور دل سے مسلمان نہیں ہوئے) تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ اے ام سلیم! (کافروں کے شر کو) اللہ تعالیٰ بہت بہترین انداز سے کافی ہو گیا (اب تیرے خنجر باندھنے کی ضرورت نہیں)۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1130]
