Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) says: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Whoever wishes to swear an oath, let him swear by nothing but Allah." The Quraysh used to swear by their fathers and forefathers, so the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Do not swear by your fathers and forefathers." [Mukhtasar Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 1011]
الترجمة الأردية
سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا: جو شخص قسم کھانا چاہے وہ کوئی قسم نہ کھائے سوائے اللہ تعالیٰ کی قسم کے۔ اور قریش اپنے باپ دادا کی قسم کھایا کرتے تھے تو رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ اپنے باپ دادا کی قسم مت کھاؤ۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1011]
