Hadrat Abd al-Rahman ibn Abd Rabb al-Ka'ba reported: I entered the mosque and found Hadrat Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-As (may Allah be well pleased with them both) sitting in the shade of the Ka'ba with people gathered around him. I came and sat near him. He said: We were with the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) on a journey. We halted at a place; some of us began to set right their tents, others began to compete in shooting arrows, and others were tending to their animals, when the announcer of the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) called out: Gather for prayer! We all gathered around him. He stated: There has been no prophet before me who was not duty-bound to guide his community to what he knew to be good for them and to warn them against what he knew to be evil for them. And indeed, the well-being of this community of yours has been placed in its early period, and the last of them shall be afflicted with trials and matters that you will disapprove of. Trials will come such that one trial will make the previous one seem insignificant. When a trial comes, the believer will say: This is my destruction. Then it will pass. Then another trial will come and he will say: This is it, this is it. So whoever wishes to be kept away from the Fire and to be admitted into Paradise, let his death come upon him while he believes in Allah and the Last Day, and let him treat people the way he wishes to be treated. And whoever pledges allegiance to a leader, giving him the clasp of his hand and the sincerity of his heart, let him obey him as much as he can. Then if another comes to dispute with that leader, strike the neck of the other (i.e. support the legitimate leader). He said: I drew close to him and submitted: Did you hear this from the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)? He pointed to his ears and his heart and said: These two heard it and retained it. I submitted: This cousin of yours, Hadrat Mu'awiya (may Allah be well pleased with him), commands us to consume each other's wealth unjustly and to kill one another, whereas Allah the Exalted says: 'O you who believe! Do not consume each other's wealth unjustly, except through trade by mutual consent, and do not kill yourselves.' He said: He (Hadrat Abdullah ibn Amr) remained silent for a while, then said: Obey him in what constitutes obedience to Allah, and disobey him in what constitutes disobedience to Allah.
الترجمة الأردية
حضرت عبدالرحمٰن بن عبد ربّ الکعبہ سے روایت ہے، فرماتے ہیں: میں مسجد میں داخل ہوا تو حضرت عبداللہ بن حضرت عمرو بن العاص رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما کعبہ کے سائے میں تشریف فرما تھے اور لوگ ان کے ارد گرد جمع تھے۔ میں بھی آیا اور ان کے پاس بیٹھ گیا۔ انہوں نے فرمایا: ہم رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے ہمراہ ایک سفر میں تھے، ہم ایک جگہ اترے، تو کوئی اپنا خیمہ درست کرنے لگا، کوئی تیراندازی کا مقابلہ کرنے لگا اور کوئی اپنے جانوروں کی دیکھ بھال میں مصروف تھا، اتنے میں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے منادی نے آواز لگائی کہ نماز کے لیے جمع ہو جاؤ! ہم سب آپ کے پاس جمع ہو گئے۔ آپ نے ارشاد فرمایا: مجھ سے پہلے کوئی ایسا نبی نہیں گزرا جس پر یہ واجب نہ ہو کہ اپنی امت کو جو بات اس کے حق میں بہتر جانے اس کی رہنمائی کرے اور جو بات اس کے حق میں بری جانے اس سے ڈرائے۔ اور بلاشبہ تمہاری اس امت کی عافیت اس کے اول حصے میں رکھی گئی ہے اور آخری لوگوں کو بلائیں اور ایسے معاملات پیش آئیں گے جنہیں تم ناپسند کرو گے۔ اور فتنے (ایسے) آئیں گے کہ ایک فتنہ (آئے گا تو) دوسرے فتنے کو ہلکا کر دے گا۔ جب فتنہ آئے گا تو مومن کہے گا: یہ میری ہلاکت ہے، پھر وہ ٹل جائے گا، پھر دوسرا فتنہ آئے گا تو کہے گا: بس یہی یہی (میری ہلاکت ہے)۔ پس جو شخص چاہے کہ اسے آگ سے دور رکھا جائے اور جنت میں داخل کیا جائے تو اسے چاہیے کہ اس کی موت اس حال میں آئے کہ وہ اللہ تعالیٰ اور یومِ آخرت پر ایمان رکھتا ہو اور لوگوں کے ساتھ وہ سلوک کرے جو وہ اپنے لیے پسند کرتا ہو۔ اور جس نے کسی امام (حاکم) سے بیعت کی اور اسے اپنے ہاتھ کا (مصافحہ) اور دل کا پھل (اخلاص) دیا تو اسے چاہیے کہ جہاں تک ہو سکے اس کی اطاعت کرے، پھر اگر کوئی دوسرا آ کر اس (امام) سے جھگڑا کرے تو دوسرے کی گردن مارو (یعنی امام کی حمایت کرو)۔ (راوی) فرماتے ہیں: میں نے ان (حضرت عبداللہ بن عمرو) کے قریب ہو کر عرض کیا: کیا آپ نے یہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم سے سنا ہے؟ انہوں نے اپنے کانوں اور دل کی طرف اشارہ کر کے فرمایا: ان دونوں نے (یہ حدیث) سنی اور محفوظ رکھی ہے۔ میں نے عرض کیا: یہ آپ کے چچازاد بھائی حضرت معاویہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ ہیں جو ہمیں حکم دیتے ہیں کہ ایک دوسرے کا مال ناحق کھایا کریں اور ایک دوسرے کو قتل کریں، حالانکہ اللہ تعالیٰ فرماتا ہے: "اے ایمان والو! آپس میں ایک دوسرے کا مال ناحق نہ کھاؤ مگر یہ کہ آپس کی رضامندی سے تجارت ہو، اور اپنے آپ کو قتل نہ کرو۔" (راوی) فرماتے ہیں: انہوں (حضرت عبداللہ بن عمرو نے) تھوڑی دیر خاموش رہ کر فرمایا: اس کی اطاعت کرو جہاں اللہ تعالیٰ کی اطاعت ہو اور اس کی نافرمانی کرو جہاں اللہ تعالیٰ کی نافرمانی ہو۔
