وَعَن أنس قَالَ: جَمَعَ الْقُرْآنَ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَرْبَعَةٌ: أُبَيُّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ وَمُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ وَزَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ وَأَبُو زَيْدٍ قِيلَ لِأَنَسٍ: مَنْ أَبُو زَيْدٍ؟ قَالَ: أحد عمومتي. مُتَّفق عَلَيْهِ
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said to Bilal at the time of the Fajr prayer: "O Bilal, tell me about the most hopeful deed you have done in Islam, for I heard the sound of your footsteps in Paradise." He said: "I have not done any deed more hopeful to me than that whenever I perform ablution during any hour of the night or day, I pray with that ablution whatever Allah wills me to pray." Agreed upon.

انس رضی اللہ عنہ بیان کرتے ہیں، رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے عہد میں چار افراد نے قرآن کو جمع کر لیا تھا: ابی بن کعب، معاذ بن جبل، زید بن ثابت اور ابوزید رضی اللہ عنہ، انس رضی اللہ عنہ سے پوچھا گیا: ابوزید کون ہیں؟ انہوں نے فرمایا: میرے ایک چچا ہیں۔ متفق علیہ۔[مشكوة المصابيح/كتاب المناقب/حدیث: 6204]
