وَعَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى الْأَشْعَرِيِّ قَالَ: قَدِمْتُ أَنَا وَأَخِي مِنَ الْيَمَنِ فَمَكَثْنَا حِينًا مَا نَرَى إِلَّا أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ مَسْعُودٍ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ بَيْتِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِمَا نُرَى مِنْ دُخُولِهِ وَدُخُولِ أُمِّهِ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ. مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ
الترجمة الإنجليزية
'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Recite the Quran to me." I said: "O Messenger of Allah, shall I recite it to you when it was revealed to you?" He said: "I love to hear it from someone other than me." So I recited Surah al-Nisa' until I reached the verse: "How will it be when We bring a witness from every nation and bring you as a witness against these people?" [4:41]. He said: "That is enough." I turned to him and his eyes were shedding tears. Agreed upon.
الترجمة الأردية
ابوموسیٰ اشعری رضی اللہ عنہ بیان کرتے ہیں، میں اور میرا بھائی یمن سے واپس آئے تو کچھ مدت تک ہم یہی سمجھتے رہے کہ عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے اہل بیت کے ایک فرد ہیں۔ وہ اس لیے کہ ان کا اور ان کی والدہ کا بکثرت نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے پاس آنا جانا ہم دیکھا کرتے تھے۔ متفق علیہ۔[مشكوة المصابيح/كتاب المناقب/حدیث: 6198]
