Abu Musa reported that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "On every Muslim there is a duty of charity." They said: "O Prophet of Allah, what about one who does not find anything to give?" He said: "He should work with his hands, benefit himself, and give charity." They said: "If he cannot find (work)?" He said: "He should help a person in need who asks for help." They said: "If he cannot do that?" He said: "Then let him do good and refrain from evil, for that will be counted as charity for him." Agreed upon.
