وَعَن قَطن بن قَبيصةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «الْعِيَافَةُ وَالطَّرْقُ وَالطِّيَرَةُ مِنَ الْجِبْتِ» . رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُد
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Qatan b. Qabisa told on his father’s authority that the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated:"Augury from the flight of birds, the practice of pessomancy,* and taking evil omens pertain to divination."** Abu Dawud transmitted it. * Tarq. It is used of the practice of divinantion in which women threw stones. It is also used of geomancy by drawing lines. ** Min al-jibt. Jibt means devil and also divination. An alternative translation would be that these practices come from the devil.
الترجمة الأردية
حضرت قطن بن قبیصہ اپنے والد سے روایت کرتے ہیں کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: پرندوں کی اڑان سے فال لینا، لکیریں ڈال کر فال نکالنا اور بدشگونی، یہ سب جبت (شیطانی کام) سے ہیں۔ حضرت ابوداؤد نے روایت کیا۔
