Yahya (upon him be peace) related to me from Malik from Yahya ibn Said from Amr ibn
Kathir ibn Aflah from Abu Muhammad (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), the mawla of Hadrat Abu Qatada that Abu
Qatada ibn Ribi said, "We went out with the Beloved Messenger of Allah in the year of Hunayn. When the
armies met, the Muslims were put in disarray. I saw a man from the
idol worshippers who had got the better of one of the Muslims, so I
circled round and came up behind him, and struck him with a sword on
his shoulder-blade. He turned to me and grabbed me so hard that I felt
the smell of death in it. Then death overcame him, and he let go of
me."
He continued, "I met Umar ibn al-Khattab and said to
him, 'What's going on with the people?' He replied, 'The Command of
Allah.' Then the people took hold of the battle and the Messenger of
Allah said, 'Whoever has
killed one of the dead and can prove it, can strip him of his personal
effects.' I stood up and said, 'Who will testify for me?' and then I
sat down. The Beloved Messenger of Allah repeated, 'Whoever has killed one of
the dead and can prove it, can strip him of his personal effects.' I
stood up and said, 'Who will testify for me?' then I sat down. Then he
repeated his statement a third time, so I stood up, and the Messenger
of Allah said, 'What's the
matter with you, Hadrat Abu Qatada?' So I related my story to him. A man
said, 'He has spoken the truth, Beloved Messenger of Allah. I have the effects
of that slain person with me, so give him compensation for it,
Beloved Messenger of Allah.'
Hadrat Abu Bakr said, 'No, by Allah! He did not
intend that one of the lions of Allah should fight for Allah and His
Messenger and then give you his spoils.' The Beloved Messenger of Allah said, 'He has spoken the truth,
hand it over to him.' He gave it to me, and I sold the breast-plate
and I bought a garden in the area of the Banu Salima with the money.
It was my first property, and I acquired it in Islam."
الترجمة الأردية
ابی قتادہ بن ربعی سے روایت ہے کہ نکلے ہم رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے ساتھ جنگ حنین میں، جب لڑے ہم کافروں سے تو مسلمانوں میں گڑبڑ مچی میں نے ایک کافر کو دیکھا کہ اس نے ایک مسلمان کو مغلوب کیا ہوا ہے، تو میں نے پیچھے سے آن کر ایک تلوار اس کی گردن پر ماری، وہ میرے طرف دوڑا اور مجھے آن کر ایسا کردیا گویا موت کو مزہ چکھایا، پھر وہ خود مرگیا اور مجھے چھوڑ دیا، پھر میں حضرت عمر سے ملا ؛ اور میں نے کہا آج لوگوں کو کیا ہوا؟ انہوں نے جواب دیا کہ اللہ کا ایسا ہی حکم ہوا، پھر مسلمان واپس لوٹے اور فرمایا رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے "جو کسی شخص کو مارے تو اس کا سامان اسی کو ملے گا جبکہ اس پر وہ گواہ رکھتا ہو" حضرت ابوقتادہ کہتے ہیں؛ جب میں نے یہ سنا تو اٹھ کھڑا ہوا پھر میں نے یہ خیال کیا کہ کون گواہی دے گا میری؟ تو میں بیٹھ گیا۔ پھر آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا جو شخص کسی کو مارے گا ، اس کا سامان اسی کی ملے گا بشرطیکہ وہ گواہ رکھتا ہو تو میں اٹھ کھڑا ہوا پھر میں نے یہ خیال کیا کہ کون گواہی دے گا میری؟ پھر بیٹھا رہا۔ پھر تیسری مرتبہ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا؛ میں اٹھ کھڑا ہوا، تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا کیا ہوا تجھ کو اے حضرت ابوقتادہ؟ میں نے سارا قصہ کہہ سنایا؛ اتنے میں ایک شخص بولا سچ کہا یا رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم، اور سامان اس کافر کا میرے پاس ہے تو وہ سامان مجھے معاف کرا دیجئے ان سے حضرت ابوبکر نے کہا قسم اللہ کی ایسا کبھی نہ ہوگا، رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کبھی ایسا قصد نہ کریں گے کہ ایک شیر اللہ کے شیروں میں سے اللہ ورسول صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی طرف سے لڑے اور سامان تجھے مل جائے، آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا حضرت ابوبکر سچ کہتے ہیں وہ سامان حضرت ابوقتادہ کو دے دے اس نے مجھے دیدیا میں زرہ بیچ کر ایک باغ خریدا؛ بنی سلمہ کے محلہ میں، اور یہ پہلا مال ہے جو حاصل کیا میں نے اسلام میں۔
