حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مَرْوَانَ، مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ الْعُثْمَانِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ السَّاعِدِيِّ، قَالَ جَاءَ عُوَيْمِرٌ إِلَى عَاصِمِ بْنِ عَدِيٍّ فَقَالَ سَلْ لِي رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ أَرَأَيْتَ رَجُلاً وَجَدَ مَعَ امْرَأَتِهِ رَجُلاً فَقَتَلَهُ أَيُقْتَلُ بِهِ أَمْ كَيْفَ يَصْنَعُ فَسَأَلَ عَاصِمٌ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ عَنْ ذَلِكَ فَعَابَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ الْمَسَائِلَ . ثُمَّ لَقِيَهُ عُوَيْمِرٌ فَسَأَلَهُ فَقَالَ مَا صَنَعْتَ فَقَالَ صَنَعْتُ أَنَّكَ لَمْ تَأْتِنِي بِخَيْرٍ سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ فَعَابَ الْمَسَائِلَ فَقَالَ عُوَيْمِرٌ وَاللَّهِ لآتِيَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ وَلأَسْأَلَنَّهُ . فَأَتَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ فَوَجَدَهُ قَدْ أُنْزِلَ عَلَيْهِ فِيهِمَا فَلاَعَنَ بَيْنَهُمَا فَقَالَ عُوَيْمِرٌ وَاللَّهِ لَئِنِ انْطَلَقْتُ بِهَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ لَقَدْ كَذَبْتُ عَلَيْهَا . قَالَ فَفَارَقَهَا قَبْلَ أَنْ يَأْمُرَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ فَصَارَتْ سُنَّةً فِي الْمُتَلاَعِنَيْنِ ثُمَّ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ " انْظُرُوهَا فَإِنْ جَاءَتْ بِهِ أَسْحَمَ أَدْعَجَ الْعَيْنَيْنِ عَظِيمَ الأَلْيَتَيْنِ فَلاَ أُرَاهُ إِلاَّ قَدْ صَدَقَ عَلَيْهَا وَإِنْ جَاءَتْ بِهِ أُحَيْمِرَ كَأَنَّهُ وَحَرَةٌ فَلاَ أُرَاهُ إِلاَّ كَاذِبًا " . قَالَ فَجَاءَتْ بِهِ عَلَى النَّعْتِ الْمَكْرُوهِ .
الترجمة الإنجليزية
It is narrated that Hadrat Sahl bin Sa'd As-Sa'idi (may Allah be well pleased with him) said: "Uwaimir came to 'Asim bin 'Adi and said: 'Ask the Messenger of Ailah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) for me: "Do you think that if a man finds another man with his wife and kills him, he should be killed in retaliation, or what should he do?" 'Asim asked the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) about that, and the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) disapproved of the question. Then 'Uwaimir met him ('Asim) and asked him about that, saying: 'What did you do?’ He said: I did that and you have not brought me any good. I asked the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and he disapproved of this question.’ Uwaimir said: 'By Allah, I will go to the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) myself and ask him.' So he went to the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and found that Qur'an had been revealed concerning them, and the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) instructed them to go through the procedure of Li'an. 'Uwaimir submitted: 'O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) by Allah if I take her back, I would have been telling lies about her.' So he left her before the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) instructed him to do so, and that became the Sunnah for two who engage in the procedure of Li'an. Then the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: 'Wait and see. If she gives birth to a child who is black in color with widely-spaced dark eyes and large buttocks, then I think that he was telling the truth about her, but if she gives birth to a child with a red complexion like a Wahrah,[1] then I think that he was lying.' Then she gave birth to a child with features resembling those of the man concerning whom she was accused
الترجمة الأردية
حضرت سہل بن سعد ساعدی رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ فرماتے ہیں کہ عویمر عجلانی ( رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ ) عاصم بن عدی ( رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ ) کے پاس آئے، اور کہنے لگے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم سے میرے لیے یہ مسئلہ پوچھو کہ اگر کوئی مرد اپنی عورت کے ساتھ کسی اجنبی مرد کو ( زنا ) کرتے ہوئے پائے پھر اس کو قتل کر دے تو کیا اس کے بدلے اسے بھی قتل کر دیا جائے گا یا وہ کیا کرے؟ عاصم ( رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ ) نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم سے اس کے متعلق پوچھا، آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کو ایسے سوالات برے لگے ۱؎، پھر عویمر ( رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ ) عاصم ( رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ ) سے ملے اور پوچھا: تم نے کیا کیا؟ عاصم رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے کہا: میں نے کیا جو کیا یعنی پوچھا لیکن تم سے مجھے کوئی بھلائی نہیں پہنچی، میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم سے پوچھا تو آپ نے اس طرح کے سوالوں کو برا جانا، عویمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کہنے لگے: اللہ کی قسم میں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے پاس خود جاؤں گا اور آپ سے پوچھوں گا، چنانچہ وہ خود آپ کے پاس آئے تو دیکھا کہ ان دونوں کے بارے میں وحی اتر چکی ہے، آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ان دونوں کے درمیان لعان کرا دیا، عویمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے کہا: اللہ کے رسول! اب اگر اس عورت کو میں ساتھ لے جاؤں تو گویا میں نے اس پر تہمت لگائی چنانچہ انہوں نے اس کو نبی اکرم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے حکم سے پہلے ہی چھوڑ دیا، پھر لعان کرنے والوں کے بارے میں یہ دستور ہو گیا۔ پھر نبی اکرم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: دیکھو اگر عویمر کی عورت کالے رنگ کا، کالی آنکھوں والا، بڑی سرین والا بچہ جنے تو میں سمجھتا ہوں کہ عویمر سچے ہیں، اور اگر سرخ رنگ کا بچہ جنے جیسے وحرہ ( سرخ کیڑا ہوتا ہے ) تو میں سمجھتا ہوں وہ جھوٹے ہیں ۔ راوی کہتے ہیں کہ پھر اس عورت کا بچہ بری شکل پہ پیدا ہوا۔
