أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمُثَنَّى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ صَالِحٍ عَنْ رَبِيعَةَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنْ قَزَعَةَ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ عَنْ صَلَاةِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ لَيْسَ لَكَ فِي ذَلِكَ خَيْرٌ «كَانَتِ الصَّلَاةُ تُقَامُ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَيَخْرُجُ أَحَدُنَا إِلَى الْبَقِيعِ لِيَقْضُيَ حَاجَتَهُ ثُمَّ يَجِيءُ فَيَتَوَضَّأُ فَيَجِدُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِي الرَّكْعَةِ الْأُولَى مِنَ الظُّهْرِ»

Qaza'ah said: I asked Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) about the prayer of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). He said: 'You will find no benefit in that. The prayer would be established for the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and one of us would go out to al-Baqi' to relieve himself, then come back and perform ablution, and still find the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in the first rak'ah of Zuhr.'
