أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ الطَّائِيُّ بِمَنْبَجَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ حَفْصٍ النُّفَيْلِيُّ قَالَ قَرَأْنَا عَلَى مَعْقِلِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنَّهَا أَخْبَرَتْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ خَرَجَ لَيْلَةً فِي رَمَضَانَ فَصَلَّى فِي الْمَسْجِدِ فَصَلَّى رِجَالٌ وَرَاءَهُ بِصَلَاتِهِ فَأَصْبَحَ النَّاسُ فَتَحَدَّثُوا بِذَلِكَ فَاجْتَمَعَ أَكْثَرَهُمْ مِنْهُمْ فَخَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ الثَّانِيَةَ فَصَلَّوْا بِصَلَاتِهِ فَأَصْبَحَ النَّاسُ فَتَحَدَّثُوا بِذَلِكَ فَاجْتَمَعَ أَهْلُ الْمَسْجِدِ لَيْلَةَ الثَّالِثَةِ فَخَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَصَلَّوْا بِصَلَاتِهِ فَلَمَّا كَانَتِ اللَّيْلَةُ الرَّابِعَةُ عَجَزَ الْمَسْجِدُ عَنْ أَهْلِهِ فَلَمْ يَخْرُجْ إِلَيْهِمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِلَّا لِصَلَاةِ الْفَجْرِ فَلَمَّا قُضِيَتْ صَلَاةُ الْفَجْرِ أَقْبَلَ عَلَى النَّاسِ فَتَشَهَّدَ ثُمَّ قَالَ «أَمَّا بَعْدُ فَإِنَّهُ لَمْ يَخْفَ عَلَيَّ مَكَانُكُمْ وَلَكِنِّي خَشِيتُ أَنْ تُفْرَضَ عَلَيْكُمْ فَتَقْعُدُوا عَنْهَا» وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُرَغِّبُهُمْ فِي قِيَامِ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ مِنْ غَيْرِ أَنْ يَأْمُرَهُمْ بِقَضَاءِ أَمْرٍ فِيهِ يَقُولُ «مَنْ قَامَ رَمَضَانَ إِيمَانًا وَاحْتِسَابًا غُفِرَ لَهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِهِ» فَخَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَالْأَمْرُ عَلَى ذَلِكَ ثُمَّ كَانَ الْأَمْرُ عَلَى ذَلِكَ فِي خِلَافَةِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ وَصَدْرًا مِنْ خِلَافَةِ عُمَرَ رِضْوُانُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Umm al-Mu'minin Hadrat Aisha (may Allah be well pleased with her) narrated that the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) went out one night in Ramadan and prayed in the mosque, and some men prayed behind him following his prayer. The next morning the people talked about it, and more of them gathered. The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) went out the second night and they prayed following his prayer. The next morning the people talked about it, and on the third night the people of the mosque gathered. The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) went out and they prayed following his prayer. On the fourth night, the mosque was unable to contain the people, but the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) did not come out to them except for the Fajr prayer. When the Fajr prayer was completed, he turned to the people, recited the testimony of faith, and then stated: 'As for what follows: your presence was not hidden from me, but I feared it might be made obligatory upon you and you would be unable to continue it.' The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) used to encourage them to pray at night during Ramadan without giving them a definite command, saying: 'Whoever stands in prayer during Ramadan with faith and seeking reward, his previous sins will be forgiven.' The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) passed away and matters remained so, and they continued that way during the caliphate of Abu Bakr and the early part of the caliphate of Umar (may Allah be pleased with them all).
الترجمة الأردية
اُمّ المؤمنین حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم رمضان کی ایک رات باہر تشریف لائے اور مسجد میں نماز پڑھائی، تو کچھ لوگوں نے آپ کے پیچھے نماز پڑھی۔ صبح لوگوں نے اس کا چرچا کیا اور زیادہ لوگ جمع ہوگئے۔ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم دوسری رات باہر تشریف لائے اور انہوں نے آپ کے پیچھے نماز پڑھی۔ صبح لوگوں نے پھر چرچا کیا اور تیسری رات اہلِ مسجد جمع ہوگئے۔ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم باہر تشریف لائے اور انہوں نے آپ کے پیچھے نماز پڑھی۔ چوتھی رات مسجد میں لوگوں کی گنجائش نہ رہی لیکن رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم صرف فجر کی نماز کے لیے باہر تشریف لائے۔ جب فجر کی نماز سے فارغ ہوئے تو لوگوں کی طرف متوجہ ہوئے، تشہد پڑھا اور پھر ارشاد فرمایا: اما بعد! تمہاری جگہ مجھ سے پوشیدہ نہیں تھی لیکن مجھے ڈر تھا کہ یہ تم پر فرض کر دی جائے اور تم اسے ادا نہ کر سکو۔ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم رمضان میں قیام کی ترغیب دیا کرتے تھے بغیر حکم دیے اور فرماتے: جو شخص رمضان میں ایمان اور ثواب کی نیت سے قیام کرے اس کے پچھلے گناہ معاف کر دیے جائیں گے۔ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم اسی حال پر رحلت فرما گئے، پھر حضرت ابوبکر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کی خلافت میں اور حضرت عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کی خلافت کے ابتدائی دور میں بھی یہی معاملہ رہا۔
