Hadrat Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrated: A red wind blew in Kufa, and a man came to Abdullah ibn Mas'ud saying nothing but: O Abdullah ibn Mas'ud, the Hour has come! Abdullah was reclining, so he sat up and said: The Hour will not come until inheritance is not distributed and no one rejoices over spoils of war. An enemy will gather against the people of Islam and the people of Islam will gather against them — and he pointed toward Sham. I said: Do you mean the Romans? He said: Yes. At that battle there will be a fierce retreat. The Muslims will send forth a vanguard pledged to death, not returning except victorious. They will fight until night separates them; both sides will return, neither victorious, and the vanguard will perish. Then the Muslims will send forth a second vanguard pledged to death, not returning except victorious. They will fight until night separates them; both sides will return, neither victorious, and the vanguard will perish. Then a third vanguard pledged to death will be sent. They will fight until evening; both will return, neither victorious, and the vanguard will perish. On the fourth day, the remainder of the Muslims will charge them and Allah will make the turn of fortune against them. They will fight a tremendous battle — the like of which has never been seen — until birds passing by their side will not make it past them before falling dead. The sons of one father, who were a hundred, will count themselves and find only one man remaining. So with what spoils will they rejoice, or what inheritance will be divided? While they are thus, they will hear of people greater than that — a cry will come that the Dajjal has taken their families behind them. So they will throw away what is in their hands and advance, sending ten horsemen as scouts. The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: I know their names, their fathers' names, and the colors of their horses. They are the finest horsemen on the face of the earth that day — or he said: They are the finest of those on the face of the earth. This hadith is authentic upon the condition of the two Shaykhs, and they did not narrate it.
الترجمة الأردية
حضرت عبد اللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے: کوفہ میں سرخ ہوا چلی تو ایک شخص عبد اللہ بن مسعود کے پاس آیا اور بار بار کہنے لگا: اے عبد اللہ بن مسعود! قیامت آ گئی! عبد اللہ ٹیک لگائے بیٹھے تھے، سیدھے بیٹھ گئے اور فرمایا: قیامت قائم نہ ہوگی یہاں تک کہ میراث تقسیم نہ ہو اور غنیمت پر خوشی نہ ہو۔ ایک دشمن اہلِ اسلام کے خلاف جمع ہوگا اور اہلِ اسلام ان کے خلاف — اور شام کی طرف اشارہ کیا۔ میں نے کہا: کیا آپ کی مراد روم ہے؟ فرمایا: ہاں۔ اس لڑائی میں شدید پسپائی ہوگی۔ مسلمان موت کے لیے ایک دستہ بھیجیں گے جو فتح کے بغیر واپس نہ آئے گا۔ وہ رات ہونے تک لڑیں گے؛ دونوں فریق لوٹیں گے، کوئی فاتح نہیں ہوگا اور دستہ فنا ہو جائے گا۔ پھر مسلمان دوسرا دستہ بھیجیں گے موت کی شرط پر، جو فتح کے بغیر واپس نہ آئے۔ وہ رات ہونے تک لڑیں گے؛ دونوں لوٹیں گے، کوئی فاتح نہیں اور دستہ فنا ہوگا۔ پھر تیسرا دستہ بھیجا جائے گا۔ وہ شام تک لڑیں گے؛ دونوں لوٹیں گے، کوئی فاتح نہیں اور دستہ فنا ہوگا۔ چوتھے دن مسلمانوں کے بقیہ ان پر حملہ کریں گے اور اللہ ان پر ہار ڈال دے گا۔ وہ عظیم معرکہ لڑیں گے — جیسا کبھی نہیں دیکھا گیا — یہاں تک کہ ان کے پہلو سے گزرنے والا پرندہ انہیں پار نہ کر سکے گا اور مردہ گر جائے گا۔ ایک باپ کے بیٹے جو سو تھے گنیں گے تو صرف ایک شخص باقی پائیں گے۔ تو کون سی غنیمت پر خوشی ہوگی یا کون سی میراث تقسیم ہوگی؟ اسی حال میں انہیں اس سے بڑے لوگوں کی خبر ملے گی — چیخ آئے گی کہ دجال نے ان کے پیچھے ان کی اولاد میں قبضہ کر لیا ہے۔ تو وہ جو ہاتھوں میں ہے پھینک دیں گے اور آگے بڑھیں گے اور دس سوار جاسوسی کے لیے بھیجیں گے۔ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: میں ان کے نام، ان کے باپوں کے نام اور ان کے گھوڑوں کے رنگ جانتا ہوں۔ وہ اس دن روئے زمین پر سب سے بہتر سوار ہوں گے — یا فرمایا: وہ روئے زمین پر سب سے بہتر ہوں گے۔ یہ حدیث بخاری و مسلم کی شرط پر صحیح ہے اور انہوں نے روایت نہیں کیا۔
