Abu Abdullah Muhammad ibn Ali al-San'ani informed us in Makkah, Ishaq ibn Ibrahim ibn Abbad narrated to us, Abd al-Razzaq informed us, Ma'mar informed us from Ishaq ibn Rashid, from Amr ibn Wabisa al-Asadi, from his father who said: I was at my house in Kufa when I heard at the door: 'Peace be upon you, may I enter?' I said: 'And upon you be peace, enter.' When he entered, behold it was Hadrat Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be well pleased with him). I said: 'O Abu Abd al-Rahman, what hour is this for a visit?' - and it was the heat of midday. He said: 'The day had grown long for me and I thought of someone to converse with.' He began narrating to me from the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and I narrated to him. Then he began narrating and said: I heard the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) say: "There shall be tribulation in which the sleeping person is better than the lying one, the lying one is better than the sitting one, the sitting one is better than the standing one, the standing one is better than the walking one, and the walking one is better than the riding one. All its slain are in the Fire." I submitted: 'O Messenger of Allah, when shall that be?' He stated: "That shall be in the days of killing (al-Harj)." I submitted: 'And when are the days of killing?' He stated: "When a man does not feel safe from his companion." I submitted: 'What do you command me if I reach that time?' He stated: "Restrain yourself and your hand, and enter your house." I submitted: 'O Messenger of Allah, what if someone enters my house?' He stated: "Then enter your room." I submitted: 'What if someone enters my room?' He stated: "Then enter your mosque and do like this" - and he grasped his right hand upon the wrist - "and say: 'My Lord is Allah,' until you die upon that."

ابو عبد اللہ محمد بن علی صنعانی نے مکہ میں ہمیں خبر دی، اسحاق بن ابراہیم بن عباد نے ہمیں بیان کیا، عبد الرزاق نے ہمیں خبر دی، معمر نے اسحاق بن راشد سے، عمرو بن وابصہ اسدی سے، ان کے والد سے روایت کیا، فرمایا: «میں کوفہ میں اپنے گھر میں تھا کہ دروازے پر آواز آئی: السلام علیکم، کیا میں اندر آ سکتا ہوں؟ میں نے کہا: وعلیکم السلام، اندر آئیے۔ جب اندر آئے تو دیکھا حضرت عبد اللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ ہیں۔ میں نے کہا: اے ابو عبد الرحمٰن! یہ ملاقات کا کون سا وقت ہے؟ اور یہ دوپہر کی شدید گرمی تھی۔ فرمایا: دن مجھ پر لمبا ہوگیا تو میں نے سوچا کس سے بات کروں۔ پھر مجھے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم سے احادیث سنانے لگے اور میں انہیں سناتا رہا۔ پھر فرمایا: میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کو ارشاد فرماتے سنا: ایک فتنہ ہوگا جس میں سونے والا لیٹنے والے سے بہتر ہوگا، لیٹنے والا بیٹھنے والے سے بہتر ہوگا، بیٹھنے والا کھڑے ہونے والے سے بہتر ہوگا، کھڑا ہونے والا چلنے والے سے بہتر ہوگا اور چلنے والا سوار سے بہتر ہوگا۔ اس کے سب مقتول جہنم میں ہوں گے۔ میں نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! یہ کب ہوگا؟ ارشاد فرمایا: یہ ایام ہرج (قتل و غارت) کے دن ہوں گے۔ میں نے عرض کیا: ایام ہرج کب ہوں گے؟ ارشاد فرمایا: جب آدمی اپنے ہم نشین سے محفوظ نہ رہے۔ میں نے عرض کیا: اگر میں وہ زمانہ پاؤں تو آپ مجھے کیا حکم دیتے ہیں؟ ارشاد فرمایا: اپنے نفس اور اپنے ہاتھ کو روکو اور اپنے گھر میں داخل ہو جاؤ۔ میں نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! اگر کوئی میرے گھر میں داخل ہو جائے؟ ارشاد فرمایا: پھر اپنے کمرے میں داخل ہو جاؤ۔ میں نے عرض کیا: اگر کوئی میرے کمرے میں داخل ہو جائے؟ ارشاد فرمایا: پھر اپنی مسجد میں داخل ہو جاؤ اور ایسا کرو - اور اپنے دائیں ہاتھ سے کلائی پکڑ لی - اور کہو: میرا رب اللہ ہے، یہاں تک کہ اسی حال پر مرو۔»
