Hadrat Abu Umamah al-Bahili (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrated: 'O people! You are spending your mornings and evenings in an abode where you are dividing up good and bad deeds, and you are about to depart from it to another abode — which is this' — pointing to the grave — 'the house of solitude, the house of darkness, the house of worms, and the house of constriction — except for what Allah makes spacious. Then you will be transferred to the stations of the Day of Resurrection. You will be in one of those stations when a matter from Allah will overwhelm the people — then faces will be whitened and faces will be blackened. Then you will be transferred to another station and severe darkness will overwhelm the people. Then light will be distributed: the believer will be given light, but the disbeliever and the hypocrite will be left without anything. That is the parable Allah Most High struck in His Book: {Or [they are] like darknesses within an unfathomable sea} [al-Nur: 40]. The disbeliever and hypocrite will not benefit from the light of the believer, just as the blind person does not benefit from the sight of the seeing. The hypocrites will say to the believers: {Wait for us that we may acquire some of your light. It will be said: Go back behind you and seek light} [al-Hadid: 13] — and that is the deception by which the hypocrite was deceived. Allah Most High said: {They [think to] deceive Allah, but He is deceiving them} [al-Nisa': 142]. They will return to the place where light was distributed but will find nothing, then they will go towards them, but a wall will have been placed between them with a door — its interior containing mercy, and its exterior facing them containing punishment. They will call out: Were we not with you? We prayed with your prayer and fought in your battles? {They will say: Yes, but you afflicted yourselves and you awaited and you doubted, and wishful thinking deluded you until there came the command of Allah. And the Deceiver deceived you concerning Allah} [al-Hadid: 14] — he recited up to His saying: {And wretched is the destination} [al-Hadid: 15].' This hadith has an authentic chain, but they [al-Bukhari and Muslim] did not record it. It is authentic.

حضرت ابو اُمامہ الباہلی رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے فرمایا: 'اے لوگو! تم ایک ایسی منزل میں صبح و شام کر رہے ہو جہاں نیکیاں اور برائیاں تقسیم ہو رہی ہیں، اور تم عنقریب اس سے دوسری منزل کی طرف کوچ کرنے والے ہو — جو یہ ہے' — قبر کی طرف اشارہ کرتے ہوئے — 'تنہائی کا گھر، اندھیرے کا گھر، کیڑوں کا گھر اور تنگی کا گھر — سوائے اس کے جسے اللہ کشادہ کر دے۔ پھر تم قیامت کے مقامات کی طرف منتقل ہو گے۔ تم ان میں سے کسی مقام پر ہو گے کہ اللہ کی طرف سے ایک معاملہ لوگوں پر چھا جائے گا — تو چہرے سفید ہوں گے اور چہرے سیاہ ہوں گے۔ پھر تم ایک اور مقام کی طرف منتقل ہو گے اور شدید اندھیرا لوگوں پر چھا جائے گا۔ پھر نور تقسیم ہو گا: مومن کو نور دیا جائے گا اور کافر و منافق کو چھوڑ دیا جائے گا، انہیں کچھ نہ دیا جائے گا۔ یہی وہ مثال ہے جو اللہ تعالیٰ نے اپنی کتاب میں بیان فرمائی: {یا ایسے اندھیرے جیسے گہرے سمندر میں} [النور: 40]۔ کافر اور منافق مومن کے نور سے فائدہ نہیں اٹھا سکے گا جیسے اندھا دیکھنے والے کی بصارت سے فائدہ نہیں اٹھاتا۔ منافق مومنوں سے کہیں گے: {ہمارا انتظار کرو تاکہ ہم تمہارے نور سے کچھ حاصل کر لیں۔ کہا جائے گا: اپنے پیچھے لوٹ جاؤ اور نور تلاش کرو} [الحدید: 13] — اور یہی وہ دھوکا ہے جس میں منافق دھوکے میں آیا۔ اللہ تعالیٰ نے فرمایا: {وہ اللہ کو دھوکا دیتے ہیں اور وہ انہیں دھوکا دینے والا ہے} [النساء: 142]۔ تو وہ اس جگہ واپس جائیں گے جہاں نور تقسیم ہوا تھا مگر کچھ نہ پائیں گے، پھر ان کی طرف لوٹیں گے تو ان کے درمیان ایک دیوار حائل ہو گی جس میں ایک دروازہ ہو گا — اس کا اندرونی حصہ رحمت والا ہو گا اور باہر کی طرف سے ان کی جانب عذاب ہو گا۔ وہ پکاریں گے: کیا ہم تمہارے ساتھ نہ تھے؟ تمہاری نماز کے ساتھ نماز پڑھتے تھے اور تمہاری جنگوں میں جنگ کرتے تھے؟ {وہ کہیں گے: ہاں مگر تم نے اپنے آپ کو فتنے میں ڈالا اور انتظار کیا اور شک کیا اور امنگوں نے تمہیں دھوکے میں رکھا یہاں تک کہ اللہ کا حکم آ گیا اور دھوکا دینے والے نے تمہیں اللہ کے بارے میں دھوکا دیا} [الحدید: 14] — اس کے فرمان تک تلاوت فرمائی: {اور کیا برا ٹھکانا ہے} [الحدید: 15]۔' یہ حدیث صحیح الاسناد ہے مگر بخاری و مسلم نے اسے روایت نہیں کیا۔ صحیح ہے۔
