أَخْبرَنَا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ الْمَحْبُوبِيُّ بِمَرْوَ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ ثنا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُوسَى أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ عَنْ عَاصِمٍ عَنْ زِرٍّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ أَقْرَأَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ سُورَةَ حم وَرُحْتُ إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ عَشِيَّةً فَجَلَسَ إِلَيَّ رَهْطٌ فَقُلْتُ لِرَجُلٍ مِنَ الرَّهْطِ اقْرَأْ عَلَيَّ فَإِذَا هُوَ يَقْرَأُ حُرُوفًا لَا أَقْرَؤُهَا فَقُلْتُ لَهُ مَنْ أَقْرَأَكَهَا؟ قَالَ أَقْرَأَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَانْطَلَقْنَا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَإِذَا عِنْدَهُ رَجُلٌ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ اخْتَلَفَا فِي قِرَاءَتِنَا فَإِذَا وَجْهُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَدْ تَغَيَّرَ وَوَجَدَ فِي نَفْسِهِ حِينَ ذَكَرْتُ لَهُ الِاخْتِلَافَ فَقَالَ «إِنَّمَا أَهْلَكَ مَنْ قَبْلَكُمُ الِاخْتِلَافُ» ثُمَّ أَسَرَّ إِلَيَّ عَلِيٌّ فَقَالَ عَلِيٌّ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَأْمُرُكُمْ أَنْ يَقْرَأَ كُلُّ رَجُلٍ مِنْكُمْ كَمَا عَلِمَ فَانْطَلَقْنَا وَكُلُّ رَجُلٍ مِنَّا يَقْرَأُ حُرُوفًا لَا يَقْرَؤُهَا صَاحِبُهُ
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Hadrat Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrated: The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) taught me a surah from the Ha-Mim series. I went to the mosque in the evening and a group sat with me. I asked a man from the group to recite to me, and he was reciting letters differently from how I recited. I asked him: 'Who taught you?' He said: 'The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) taught me.' We went to the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and there was a man with him. I told him of our difference in recitation, and the face of the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) changed and he felt displeasure. He stated: 'Indeed, disagreement destroyed those before you.' Then Hadrat Ali al-Murtada (may Allah ennoble his countenance) whispered to me and said: 'The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) commands each of you to recite as he was taught.' So we left, and each of us was reciting letters that the other did not recite.
الترجمة الأردية
حضرت عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے: رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے مجھے حم میں سے ایک سورت سکھائی۔ شام کو مسجد گیا تو لوگ بیٹھ گئے۔ میں نے ایک شخص سے کہا مجھے پڑھ کر سناؤ، تو وہ ایسے حروف پڑھ رہا تھا جو میں نہیں پڑھتا۔ پوچھا: تمہیں کس نے پڑھایا؟ کہا: رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے۔ ہم رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے پاس گئے، وہاں ایک شخص بیٹھا تھا۔ میں نے اختلاف کا ذکر کیا تو آپ کا چہرہ بدل گیا اور آپ کو ناگواری ہوئی۔ ارشاد فرمایا: تم سے پہلوں کو اختلاف نے ہلاک کیا۔ پھر حضرت علی المرتضیٰ کرّم اللہ تعالیٰ وجہہ الکریم نے مجھ سے آہستہ کہا: رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم حکم فرماتے ہیں کہ تم میں سے ہر شخص اسی طرح پڑھے جیسا اُسے سکھایا گیا۔ ہم چلے گئے اور ہم میں سے ہر ایک ایسے حروف پڑھتا تھا جو دوسرا نہیں پڑھتا تھا۔
