Jabir ibn Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that there was a palm-tree trunk pillar against which the Prophet (peace be upon him) used to lean while standing (to deliver the sermon). When a minbar was placed for him, we heard from the trunk a sound like that of a pregnant she-camel, until the Prophet (peace be upon him) came down from the minbar and placed his hand on it (and it became quiet).

سیدنا جابر بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہکھجور کے تنے کا ایک ستون تھا جس پر (ٹیک لگا کر) نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکھڑے ہوتے تھے پھر جب آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے لیے منبر رکھ دیا گیا تو ہم نے ستون سے دس ماہ کی حاملہ اونٹنی جیسی رونے کی آواز سنی، یہاں تک کہ نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلممنبر سے اترے اور اپنا ہاتھ اس ستون پر رکھا۔ (تب وہ آواز ختم ہو گئی)۔[مختصر صحيح بخاري/حدیث: 513]
