Narrated Aisha as-Siddiqah, the Mother of the Believers (may Allah be pleased with her): She was asked about the saying of Allah, "Indeed, We have granted you al-Kawthar," and she said that al-Kawthar is a river which your Prophet (peace be upon him) has been given, on both banks of which are hollowed pearls, and there are goblets (cups) placed there as numerous as the stars.

ام المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ عنہا سےاللہ کے اس قول”ہم نے تم کو کوثر عنایت کی ہے“کی بابت پوچھا گیا تو انھوں نے کہا کہ کوثر ایک نہر ہے جو تمہارے نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکو ملی ہے، اس کے دونوں کناروں پر خولدار موتی ہیں، وہاں ستاروں کے شمار میں (جام) پیالے رکھے ہیں۔[مختصر صحيح بخاري/حدیث: 1804]
