Narrated Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and his Companions shaved their heads during the Farewell Pilgrimage, while some Companions shortened their hair instead of shaving.

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے روایت ہے کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلماور صحابہ کرام رضی اللہ عنہم نے حجتہ الوداع میں اپنا سر منڈوایا اور بعض اصحاب نے قصر کیا (یعنی سر نہیں منڈوایا بلکہ کچھ بال کٹوائے)۔[مختصر صحيح بخاري/حدیث: 1696]
