حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيٌّ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ قَالَ لِي ابْنُ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، قَالَ صَحِبْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ فَلَمْ أَسْمَعْهُ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم إِلاَّ حَدِيثًا وَاحِدًا، قَالَ كُنَّا عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَأُتِيَ بِجُمَّارٍ فَقَالَ " إِنَّ مِنَ الشَّجَرِ شَجَرَةً مَثَلُهَا كَمَثَلِ الْمُسْلِمِ ". فَأَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَقُولَ هِيَ النَّخْلَةُ، فَإِذَا أَنَا أَصْغَرُ الْقَوْمِ فَسَكَتُّ، قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم " هِيَ النَّخْلَةُ ".
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Mujahid (upon him be mercy) narrates: I accompanied Hadrat Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be well pleased with them both) to Madinah. I did not hear him narrate any hadith from the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) except this one. He said: We were in the blessed presence of the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) when fresh dates of a palm tree were brought before him. He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) declared: Among the trees there is a tree whose likeness is like a Muslim. I intended to submit that it was the date-palm tree, but since I was the youngest of all, I remained silent. Then the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) himself declared: It is the date-palm tree.
الترجمة الأردية
مجاہد رحمۃ اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ فرماتے ہیں کہ میں حضرت عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما کے ساتھ مدینہ منورہ تک رہا، میں نے اس ایک حدیث کے سوا ان سے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی کوئی اور حدیث نہیں سنی۔ وہ فرماتے تھے کہ ہم رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی خدمت میں حاضر تھے کہ آپ کے سامنے کھجور کا گابھا لایا گیا۔ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: درختوں میں ایک درخت ایسا ہے جس کی مثال مسلمان کی طرح ہے۔ میں نے ارادہ کیا کہ عرض کروں کہ وہ کھجور کا درخت ہے، مگر چونکہ میں سب میں چھوٹا تھا اس لیے خاموش رہا۔ پھر نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے خود ہی ارشاد فرمایا: وہ کھجور کا درخت ہے۔
