Abu al-Yaman narrated to us, Shu'ayb informed us, from al-Zuhri, Sa'id and 'Ata' ibn Yazid informed me that Hadrat Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be well pleased with him) informed them from the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him). And Mahmud narrated to me, 'Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, Ma'mar informed us, from al-Zuhri, from 'Ata' ibn Yazid al-Laythi, from Hadrat Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be well pleased with him) who said: People submitted: O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), will we see our Lord on the Day of Resurrection? He stated: "Do you have difficulty seeing the sun when there are no clouds beneath it?" They said: No, O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him). He stated: "Do you have difficulty seeing the full moon when there are no clouds beneath it?" They said: No, O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him). He stated: "Then you will see Him on the Day of Resurrection likewise. Allah will gather the people and will say: Whoever used to worship something, let him follow it. So whoever used to worship the sun will follow the sun, whoever used to worship the moon will follow the moon, and whoever used to worship false deities will follow them. And this Ummah will remain, including its hypocrites. Then Allah will come to them in a form they do not recognize and will say: I am your Lord. They will say: We seek refuge with Allah from you; this is our place until our Lord comes to us — when our Lord comes, we will recognize Him. Then Allah will come to them in the form they recognize and will say: I am your Lord. They will say: You are our Lord. So they will follow Him, and the bridge of Hellfire will be laid." The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: "I will be the first to cross it, and the supplication of the messengers on that day will be: Allahumma sallim sallim (O Allah, grant safety, grant safety). And on it there will be hooks like the thorns of sa'dan — have you seen the thorns of sa'dan?" They said: Yes, O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him). He stated: "They are like the thorns of sa'dan, except that no one knows their magnitude except Allah. They will snatch people according to their deeds — some will be destroyed by their deeds, and some will be cut to pieces then saved. Until when Allah has finished judging between His servants and intends to bring out of the Fire those whom He wills to bring out — those who used to testify that there is no deity but Allah — He will command the angels to bring them out. They will recognize them by the marks of prostration, for Allah has forbidden the Fire from consuming the marks of prostration of the son of Adam. They will be brought out having been burned to charcoal, and water called the Water of Life will be poured upon them, and they will sprout like a seed sprouts in the silt of a flood. And a man will remain with his face toward the Fire, and he will say: O Lord, its odor has poisoned me and its blaze has burned me — turn my face away from the Fire. He will keep supplicating to Allah. He will say: Perhaps if I give you this, you will ask for something else. He will say: No, by Your Might, I will not ask for anything else. So He will turn his face away from the Fire. Then after that he will say: O Lord, bring me close to the gate of Paradise. He will say: Did you not claim you would not ask for anything else? Woe to you, O son of Adam, how treacherous you are! But he will keep supplicating. He will say: Perhaps if I give you that, you will ask for something else. He will say: No, by Your Might, I will not ask for anything else. And he will give Allah covenants and pledges that he will not ask for anything else. So He will bring him close to the gate of Paradise. When he sees what is in it, he will remain silent as long as Allah wills, then he will say: O Lord, admit me into Paradise. Then He will say: Did you not claim you would not ask for anything else? Woe to you, O son of Adam, how treacherous you are! He will say: O Lord, do not make me the most wretched of Your creation. He will keep supplicating until He laughs. When He laughs at him, He will give him permission to enter Paradise. When he enters it, he will be told: Wish for such-and-such. He will wish. Then he will be told: Wish for such-and-such. He will wish, until his wishes are exhausted. Then it will be said to him: All this is yours, and its like along with it." Hadrat Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be well pleased with him) said: That man is the last of the people of Paradise to enter it.

ہم سے ابو الیمان نے بیان کیا، ہمیں شعیب نے خبر دی، زہری سے، مجھے سعید اور عطاء بن یزید نے خبر دی کہ حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے انہیں نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم سے خبر دی۔ اور مجھ سے محمود نے بیان کیا، ہم سے عبدالرزاق نے بیان کیا، ہمیں معمر نے خبر دی، زہری سے، عطاء بن یزید لیثی سے، حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے، فرمایا: لوگوں نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! کیا ہم قیامت کے دن اپنے رب کو دیکھیں گے؟ آپ نے ارشاد فرمایا: "کیا سورج دیکھنے میں تمہیں کوئی تکلیف ہوتی ہے جب اس کے نیچے کوئی بادل نہ ہو؟" انہوں نے عرض کیا: نہیں، یا رسول اللہ۔ فرمایا: "کیا چودھویں رات کا چاند دیکھنے میں تمہیں تکلیف ہوتی ہے جب اس کے نیچے بادل نہ ہو؟" انہوں نے عرض کیا: نہیں، یا رسول اللہ۔ فرمایا: "تو قیامت کے دن تم اسے اسی طرح دیکھو گے۔ اللہ تعالیٰ لوگوں کو جمع فرمائے گا اور فرمائے گا: جو جس کی عبادت کرتا تھا اس کے پیچھے چلے۔ تو جو سورج کی عبادت کرتا تھا وہ سورج کے پیچھے چلے گا، جو چاند کی عبادت کرتا تھا وہ چاند کے پیچھے چلے گا، جو طاغوتوں کی عبادت کرتا تھا وہ ان کے پیچھے چلے گا۔ اور یہ اُمت باقی رہ جائے گی اور اس میں اس کے منافقین بھی ہوں گے۔ اللہ تعالیٰ ان کے پاس ایسی صورت میں تشریف لائے گا جو وہ نہیں پہچانتے اور فرمائے گا: میں تمہارا رب ہوں۔ وہ کہیں گے: ہم اللہ کی پناہ مانگتے ہیں تجھ سے، یہ ہماری جگہ ہے یہاں تک کہ ہمارا رب ہمارے پاس آئے، جب ہمارا رب آئے گا تو ہم اسے پہچان لیں گے۔ پھر اللہ تعالیٰ ان کے پاس اس صورت میں تشریف لائے گا جسے وہ پہچانتے ہیں اور فرمائے گا: میں تمہارا رب ہوں۔ وہ کہیں گے: تو ہمارا رب ہے۔ پھر وہ اس کے پیچھے چلیں گے اور جہنم کا پُل رکھا جائے گا۔" رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: "میں سب سے پہلے اس سے گزرنے والا ہوں گا، اور اس دن رسولوں کی دعا ہو گی: اللہم سلّم سلّم (اے اللہ! سلامتی دے، سلامتی دے)۔ اور اس پر سعدان کے کانٹوں جیسے آنکڑے ہوں گے — کیا تم نے سعدان کے کانٹے دیکھے ہیں؟" انہوں نے عرض کیا: ہاں، یا رسول اللہ۔ فرمایا: "وہ سعدان کے کانٹوں جیسے ہوں گے مگر ان کی عظمت کا اندازہ صرف اللہ ہی کو ہے۔ وہ لوگوں کو ان کے اعمال کے مطابق جھپٹ لیں گے۔ کوئی اپنے عمل سے ہلاک ہو گا، کوئی ٹکڑے ٹکڑے ہو جائے گا پھر بچ نکلے گا، یہاں تک کہ جب اللہ اپنے بندوں کے درمیان فیصلے سے فارغ ہو جائے گا اور دوزخ سے جنہیں نکالنا چاہے گا — یعنی جو لا إله إلا الله کی گواہی دیتے تھے — فرشتوں کو حکم دے گا کہ انہیں نکالو۔ وہ انہیں سجدوں کے نشانات سے پہچانیں گے اور اللہ نے آگ پر حرام کر دیا ہے کہ ابنِ آدم کے سجدوں کے نشانات کو کھائے۔ پھر انہیں نکالا جائے گا جل کر کوئلہ ہو چکے ہوں گے، ان پر ایک پانی ڈالا جائے گا جسے آبِ حیات کہتے ہیں، تو وہ ایسے اُگیں گے جیسے دانہ سیلاب کی لائی ہوئی مٹی میں اُگتا ہے۔ اور ایک شخص باقی رہ جائے گا جس کا چہرہ آگ کی طرف ہو گا۔ وہ عرض کرے گا: اے رب! اس کی بو نے مجھے مسموم کر دیا ہے اور اس کی لو نے مجھے جلا دیا ہے، میرا چہرہ آگ سے پھیر دے۔ وہ مسلسل اللہ سے دعا کرتا رہے گا۔ اللہ فرمائے گا: شاید اگر میں نے تجھے یہ دے دیا تو تو اس کے علاوہ اور مانگے گا۔ وہ کہے گا: نہیں، تیری عزت کی قسم، اس کے علاوہ کچھ نہیں مانگوں گا۔ تو اللہ اس کا چہرہ آگ سے پھیر دے گا۔ پھر وہ اس کے بعد عرض کرے گا: اے رب! مجھے جنت کے دروازے کے قریب کر دے۔ اللہ فرمائے گا: کیا تو نے نہیں کہا تھا کہ اس کے علاوہ کچھ نہ مانگے گا؟ تجھ پر افسوس اے ابنِ آدم! تو کتنا بے وفا ہے۔ مگر وہ مسلسل دعا کرتا رہے گا۔ فرمائے گا: شاید اگر میں نے تجھے یہ دے دیا تو تو اور مانگے گا۔ وہ کہے گا: نہیں، تیری عزت کی قسم، اس کے علاوہ نہیں مانگوں گا۔ اور اللہ سے عہد و پیمان کرے گا کہ اس کے سوا نہ مانگے گا۔ پھر اللہ اسے جنت کے دروازے کے قریب کر دے گا۔ جب وہ جنت میں جو کچھ ہے دیکھے گا تو جب تک اللہ چاہے گا خاموش رہے گا، پھر عرض کرے گا: رب! مجھے جنت میں داخل فرما دے۔ پھر فرمائے گا: کیا تو نے نہیں کہا تھا کہ اس کے علاوہ نہیں مانگے گا؟ تجھ پر افسوس اے ابنِ آدم! تو کتنا بے وفا ہے۔ وہ عرض کرے گا: اے رب! مجھے اپنی مخلوق میں سب سے بدنصیب نہ بنا۔ وہ مسلسل دعا کرتا رہے گا یہاں تک کہ (اللہ تعالیٰ) ہنسے گا، جب اس پر ہنسے گا تو اسے جنت میں داخل ہونے کی اجازت دے دے گا۔ جب وہ جنت میں داخل ہو گا تو کہا جائے گا: فلاں چیز کی تمنا کر۔ وہ تمنا کرے گا۔ پھر کہا جائے گا: فلاں چیز کی تمنا کر۔ وہ تمنا کرے گا، یہاں تک کہ اس کی تمنائیں ختم ہو جائیں گی، اس سے کہا جائے گا: یہ سب تیرا ہے اور اتنا ہی اور اس کے ساتھ۔" حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے فرمایا: اور یہ شخص جنتیوں میں سب سے آخر میں داخل ہونے والا ہے۔
