حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ، هِشَامُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي بِشْرٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ قَالَ كُنْتُ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَهْوَ يَأْكُلُ جُمَّارًا، فَقَالَ " مِنَ الشَّجَرِ شَجَرَةٌ كَالرَّجُلِ الْمُؤْمِنِ ". فَأَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَقُولَ هِيَ النَّخْلَةُ. فَإِذَا أَنَا أَحْدَثُهُمْ قَالَ " هِيَ النَّخْلَةُ ".
الترجمة الإنجليزية
It is narrated from Hadrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be well pleased with them both) who states: I was in the blessed presence of the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) while he was eating the pith (Jummar) of a date palm. He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) declared: Among the trees there is a tree that resembles a believer. I wished to submit that it was the date palm, but I was the youngest among those present (so I respectfully remained silent). He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) then declared himself: It is the date palm.
الترجمة الأردية
حضرت ابن عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما سے روایت ہے، فرماتے ہیں: میں نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی خدمت میں حاضر تھا، آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کھجور کا گابھا (جمّار) تناول فرما رہے تھے۔ ارشاد فرمایا: درختوں میں ایک درخت ایسا ہے جو مومن کی مانند ہے۔ میرا دل چاہا کہ عرض کروں کہ وہ کھجور کا درخت ہے، مگر میں حاضرین میں سب سے کم عمر تھا (اس لیے ادباً خاموش رہا)۔ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے خود ہی ارشاد فرمایا: وہ کھجور کا درخت ہے۔
