حَدَّثَنا مُحَمَّد بن عبد الملك البغدادي حَدَّثَنا يونس بن مُحَمَّد عن حمَّاد بن سَلَمة عن مُحَمَّد بن زياد عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إنما هلك من كان قبلكم بكثرة سؤالهم واختلافهم على أنبيائهم فإذا نهيتكم عن شيء فاجتنبوه وإذا أمرتكم بأمر فأتوا أحسبه قال منه ما استطعتم اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إنما هلك من كان قبلكم بكثرة سؤالهم واختلافهم على أنبيائهم فإذا نهيتكم عن شيء فاجتنبوه وإذا أمرتكم بأمر فأتوا أحسبه قال منه ما استطعتم
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Muhammad ibn Abd al-Malik al-Baghdadi narrated to us, Yunus ibn Muhammad narrated to us from Hammad ibn Salama from Muhammad ibn Ziyad from Abu Hurayra (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Those before you were destroyed because of their excessive questioning and their disagreeing with their prophets. So when I forbid you from something, avoid it, and when I command you with something, carry out of it what you are able" - I think he said.
