حدثنا محمد بن المُثَنَّى حَدَّثَنا ابن أبي عدي عن شعبة عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قال لا حسد إلا في اثنتين رجل آتاه الله القرآن فهو يتلوه آناء الليل وآناء النهار فسمعه جار له فقال لو أوتيت مثل الذي أوتي فلان لفعلت فيه مثل الذي يفعل ورجل آتاه الله مالا فهو يهلكه في حق فقال رجل لو أوتيت مثل ما أوتي فلان لفعلت فيه بمثل الذي يعملوهذا الحديثُ لاَ نَعْلَمْهُ يُرْوَى عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي هريرة رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ إلا بهذا الإسناد
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Muhammad ibn al-Muthanna narrated to us, Ibn Abi Adi narrated to us, from Shu'bah, from al-A'mash, from Abu Salih, from Hadrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be well pleased with him), from the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) who stated: «There is no envy except in two cases: a man whom Allah has given the Quran and he recites it during the hours of the night and day, and a neighbor hears him and says: If only I were given what so-and-so was given, I would do as he does. And a man whom Allah has given wealth and he spends it in what is right, and another man says: If only I were given what so-and-so was given, I would do as he does.» This hadith — we do not know it to be narrated from al-A'mash, from Abu Salih, from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be well pleased with him) except through this chain.
