حدثنا محمد بن المُثَنَّى حَدَّثَنا ابن أبي عدي عن شعبة عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ قَالَ اللَّهُ تَبَارَكَ وتعالى أنا عند ظن عبدي بي وأنا معه إذا ذكرني إن تقرب مني شبرا تقربت منه ذراعا وإن تقرب مني ذراعا تقربت منه باعا وإن جاءني يمشي جئته هرولة
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Muhammad ibn al-Muthanna narrated to us, Ibn Abi Adi narrated to us, from Shu'bah, from al-A'mash, from Abu Salih, from Hadrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be well pleased with him), from the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) who stated: Allah, Blessed and Exalted, stated: «I am as My servant thinks of Me, and I am with him when he remembers Me. If he draws near to Me a hand span, I draw near to him an arm's length. If he draws near to Me an arm's length, I draw near to him a fathom. If he comes to Me walking, I come to him running.»
