حَدَّثنا عَبدة بن عَبد الله قال أَخْبَرَنَا زيد بن الحباب قال أَخْبَرَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ وَاقِدٍ عَنْ عَبد اللَّهِ بْنِ بُرَيدة عَن أَبيهِ رَضِي اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ رَجُلا قَالَ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ اللَّهُمَّ إِنْ كَانَ مُحَمد على الحق فاخسف به فخسف به

Abda ibn Abdullah narrated to us, he said: Zayd ibn al-Hubab informed us, he said: al-Husayn ibn Waqid informed us from Abdullah ibn Burayda from his father (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man said on the day of Uhud: "O Allah, if Muhammad is upon the truth, then cause the earth to swallow me," and the earth swallowed him.
