حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّوْرَقِيُّ قَالَ نَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ عَنْ مَعْمَرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبَةَ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ رِفَاعَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ كُنَّا نَفْعَلُهُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَإِذَا لَمْ نَنْزِلْ لَمْ نَغْتَسِلْ قَالَ وَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لَا نَعْلَمُ أَحَدًا يَرْوِيهِ بِأَحْسَنَ مِنْ هَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ وَلَا نَعْلَمُ مَعْمَرَ بْنَ أَبِي حَبِيبَةَ أَسْنَدَ عَنْ عُبَيْدٍ غَيْرَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَإِذَا لَمْ نَنْزِلْ لَمْ نَغْتَسِلْ قَالَ وَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لَا نَعْلَمُ أَحَدًا يَرْوِيهِ بِأَحْسَنَ مِنْ هَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ وَلَا نَعْلَمُ مَعْمَرَ بْنَ أَبِي حَبِيبَةَ أَسْنَدَ عَنْ عُبَيْدٍ غَيْرَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ

Ya'qub ibn Ibrahim al-Dawraqi narrated to us, he said: Abdullah ibn Idris narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ishaq, from Yazid ibn Abi Habib, from Ma'mar ibn Abdullah ibn Abi Habibah, from Ubayd ibn Rifa'ah, from his father, who said: We used to do it [engage in intimacy without full penetration] during the time of the Messenger of Allah, blessings and peace of Allah be upon him, and if we did not ejaculate, we would not perform the ritual bath. He said: This hadith - we do not know anyone who narrates it with a better chain than this. We do not know Ma'mar ibn Abi Habibah to have narrated anything with a chain from Ubayd other than this hadith.
