حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ زِيَادٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا الْهَيْثَمُ بْنُ خَارِجَةَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا رِشْدِينُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ نُسَيٍّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ غَنْمٍ عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا تَوَضَّأَ مَسَحَ وَجْهَهُ بِطَرَفِ ثَوْبِهِ وَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لَا نَعْلَمُهُ يُرْوَى بِهَذَا اللَّفْظِ إِلَّا عَنْ مُعَاذٍ وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ لَمْ يَكُنْ بِالْحَافِظِ وَقَدْ رَوَى عَنْهُ الثَّوْرِيُّ وَجَمَاعَةٌ كَثِيرَةٌ

Ibrahim ibn Ziyad narrated to us, he said: al-Haytham ibn Kharijah informed us, he said: Rishdin ibn Sa'd informed us, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Ziyad, from 'Ubadah ibn Nusayy, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Ghanm, from Mu'adh ibn Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) performed ablution, he would wipe his face with the edge of his garment. This hadith is not known to be narrated except through this route.
