الترجمة الإنجليزية
Muhammad ibn 'Abd al-Malik al-Qurashi narrated to us, he said: Hammad ibn Zayd informed us, from 'Asim ibn Sulayman al-Ahwal, from Abu 'Uthman, from Usamah ibn Zayd (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: I was with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) when a messenger from one of his daughters came to him calling him and saying that a child of hers was dying. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'Go back to her and tell her to accept it with patience and hope for reward, for to Allah belongs what He takes and to Him belongs what He gives, and everything with Him has an appointed term.' She sent again, imploring him to come. So he stood up, and Mu'adh ibn Jabal and Sa'd ibn 'Ubadah stood with him. He went to her, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) placed the child in his lap while the child's soul was rattling as if in an old water-skin. The eyes of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) shed tears. Sa'd ibn 'Ubadah said: 'What is this, O Messenger of Allah?' He said: 'It is mercy that Allah has placed in the hearts of His servants. Indeed, Allah is merciful only to those among His servants who are merciful.' We do not know this hadith to be narrated from the hadith of Usamah except through this route with this chain, except that more than one person narrated it from 'Asim from Abu 'Uthman. And 'Amr ibn 'Ali informed us, he said: 'Abd al-A'la ibn 'Abd al-A'la informed us, he said: Hisham ibn Hassan informed us, from 'Asim al-Ahwal, from Abu 'Uthman al-Nahdi, from Usamah ibn Zayd, from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) with a similar meaning.
