وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ الْمِهْرَجَانِيُّ أنبأ أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْمُزَكِّي ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْعَبْدِيُّ ثنا ابْنُ بُكَيْرٍ ثنا مَالِكٌ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَبْعَثُ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ رَوَاحَةَ فَيَخْرُصُ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ يَهُوَدَ قَالَ فَجَمَعُوا لَهُ حُلِيًّا مِنْ حُلِيِّ نِسَائِهِمْ فَقَالُوا هَذَا لَكَ وَخَفِّفْ عَنَّا وَتَجَاوَزْ فِي الْقَسْمِ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ رَوَاحَةَ ؓ يَا مَعْشَرَ يَهُوَدَ وَاللهِ إِنَّكُمْ لَمِنْ أَبْغَضِ خَلْقِ اللهِ إِلَيَّ وَمَا ذَلِكَ بِحَامِلِي عَلَى أَنْ أَحِيفَ عَلَيْكُمْ فَأَمَّا الَّذِي عَرَّضْتُمْ مِنَ الرِّشْوَةِ فَإِنَّهَا سُحْتٌ وَإِنَّا لَا نَأْكُلُهَا قَالُوا بِهَذَا قَامَتِ السَّمَاوَاتُ وَالْأَرْضُ
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Abu Ahmad al-Mihrajani narrated to us... from Ibn Shihab, from Sulayman ibn Yasar, that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) used to send 'Abdullah ibn Rawahah to estimate the yield between him and the Jews. They gathered jewelry from their women's ornaments and said: 'This is for you, so be lenient with us and overlook in the division.' 'Abdullah ibn Rawahah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: 'O Jews, by Allah, you are among the most hated of Allah's creation to me, but that does not cause me to wrong you. As for the bribe you have offered, it is unlawful and we do not consume it.' They said: 'By this, the heavens and earth stand firm.'
