Abu Bakr Ahmad ibn Muhammad al-Khawarizmi narrated to us in Baghdad... from Abu Bakrah who said: We were with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) when the sun eclipsed. The Messenger of Allah went out dragging his garment until he reached the mosque. The people gathered and he prayed two units of prayer with us. When it cleared, he said: 'The sun and the moon are two signs from among the signs of Allah by which Allah frightens His servants. They do not eclipse for the death of anyone nor for their life. When you see that, pray until it is removed from you.' He said: And that was because a son of his died called Ibrahim, and some people talked about that.
