وَبِإِسْنَادِهِ ثنا الْوَلِيدُ قَالَ وَأَخْبَرَنِي شَيْبَانُ حَدَّثَنِي مَوْلًى لِآلِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْعَاصِ أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ ؓ عَنِ الْقُرَى الَّتِي بَيْنَ مَكَّةَ وَالْمَدِينَةِ مَا تَرَى فِي الْجُمُعَةِ؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ إِذَا كَانَ عَلَيْهِمْ أَمِيرٌ فَلْيُجَمِّعْ وَرُوِّينَا عَنْ عَطَاءٍ أَنَّهُ قَالَ إِذَا كَانَتْ قَرْيَةٌ لَاصِقَةٌ بَعْضُهَا بِبَعْضٍ جَمَّعُوا عَنِ الْقُرَى الَّتِي بَيْنَ مَكَّةَ وَالْمَدِينَةِ مَا تَرَى فِي الْجُمُعَةِ؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ إِذَا كَانَ عَلَيْهِمْ أَمِيرٌ فَلْيُجَمِّعْ وَرُوِّينَا عَنْ عَطَاءٍ أَنَّهُ قَالَ إِذَا كَانَتْ قَرْيَةٌ لَاصِقَةٌ بَعْضُهَا بِبَعْضٍ جَمَّعُوا
الترجمة الإنجليزية
With the same chain, al-Walid said: 'Shayban informed me that a freed slave of the family of Sa'id ibn al-As asked Abdullah ibn Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) about the villages between Makkah and Madinah: What do you think about the Friday prayer? He said: Yes, if they have an appointed leader, let him lead them in the Friday prayer.' It was also narrated from Ata that he said: 'If villages are adjacent to each other, they may combine for the Friday prayer.'
