Abu Ali al-Husayn ibn Muhammad ibn Muhammad ibn Ali al-Rudhbari in Tus and Abu Abdullah al-Hafiz in Nishapur said: Abu al-Nadr the jurist narrated to us, from Uthman ibn Sa'id, from Sa'id ibn Abi Maryam, from Abu Ghassan, from Abu Hazim, from Sahl ibn Sa'd who said: The helmet was crushed on the head of the Messenger of Allah, his front tooth was broken, and his face was wounded. Abu Hazim said: Fatimah, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), was washing the blood from him while Ali ibn Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) was bringing her water in a shield. When the water touched the wound, the bleeding increased and would not stop until she took a piece of a mat and burned it until it became ashes, then placed it on the wound and the bleeding stopped. Muslim narrated it in his Sahih from Muhammad ibn Sahl from Askar from Sa'id ibn Abi Maryam, and al-Bukhari narrated it through multiple chains from Abu Hazim.
